starrylizard: Headshot of Ruby from Demons smiling (T - Hawkeye unmade (Avengers))
([personal profile] starrylizard Oct. 7th, 2013 12:01 am)
I want to love Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and I really thought I would and I'm sad that I'm still rather baffled and bored two episodes in. I really hope it gets better. I'll still be sad if they can it. I just don't understand the character choices at all.

I finally watched Thor (the first one) today. I was actually quite good and Agent Barton made a quick appearance. No one told me that. It made me squeak!

This stupid cold won't go away. Gah!

Man it's been ages since I've really hung out on LJ and I feel like I've lost half my flist. There's so few posts on my feed. It's sad. Love you guys.

Have installed some Avengers icons as I appear to have started my fanfic reading there.

Night all!

I'm still on the fence about Shield too. Which I feel bad about, as I feel I ought to love it. I just don't yet though.

*lots of hugs*

I'm getting the impression that most people feel this way. Like it should be awesome, but it really isn't and we're all hoping it hits it's stride soon before it gets axed.

No, just assuming that if the people that WANT to watch it find it less than great, then it will likely die an early death of low ratings. No talk that I know of.

I'm telling myself that Joss always takes a little to get going. (Firefly being the exception to the rule.) There's definitely something missing for me, though I started feeling a tentative thrum of excitement during the second half of episode two. I'm going to stick it out for a few more episodes. I mean, Coulson. You know?

Hee, yes! Barton's appearance was one of my favorite things about the movie.

Yeah, I think it must have been your post I was reading earlier and then lost the tab before commenting... The one discussing the fact others were discussing similarities to the start of Buffy. Y/N? Should go look at your LJ. But yeah, I'm also sticking to it for a bit, because I really feel there's so much to work with it should be awesome... it should. *sigh*

I love Hawkeye. I'm still hoping they give him and Black Widow proper back stories. We need a prequel movie or something. *thinks thoughts at movie-making peoples*

I felt like I enjoyed all the Avengers references more than the actual show at this point. :/

Hope you feel better soon. x

Yep. You and all of us I think. I'm hoping something amazing happens to turn the show around. I pretty much dislike all the characters at present. *sigh*

(That is a lovely icon!)

Isn't it! ♥ And Lord, help me...Tom's in Sydney (a mere 45mins away) right now. So close, and yet so far.

Re: AoS - I'll see what ep3 holds tomorrow night, but I can only persevere so long.

Ooh what is he in town for? I'm surprised you haven't dashed down there to stalk him. :p

From: [identity profile] callme-k.livejournal.com

Hee. It's not for want of wanting to, believe me! :)
He's here promoting Thor: The Dark World. He's actually doing a Q&A tonight, for which they held a ballot for tix, but luck was not on my side. :(
I'm comforting myself with the fact, however, that I'll get to see his other recently made movie Only Lovers Left Alive 6 months before it's reported release date here - it's showing at the Canberra International Film Festival.

I can see where you're going, the question of Agent Coulson still needs answering.
I mean, did you know that when anyone ever mentions Tahiti, he just says; "Tahiti's a magical place". I only just picked that up after the second episode.
But I really hope they would bring back some organization like HYDRA and A.I.M. and feature Oscorp too! Anything's possible.

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Yep they need a good baddie. Something big to create an overarching storyline and pull the team together. Let's hope we get something good soon.

From: [identity profile] doubleholmes.livejournal.com

I reckon it'll be A.I.M.
Who else would've made those centipede things that gave that guy superpowers, and it was that same group that made Extremist in Iron Man 3.

Only seen the first one so far, and I found the characters didn't seem to gel too well and were a bit stereotypical, but I put that down to it being a pilot. Hopefully it will get better!

I agree with you about Agents of SHIELD. I am hoping that it will take a few episodes to really get into it. I'm waiting for really great character development as that is Joss's specialty. Here's hoping!!

Ah, THOR! Just in time for its sequel this November. Glad you liked it!

Hope you feel better. I'm recovering from a cold myself. Stupid season changes getting everyone sick!

Here's hoping, indeed.

Totally why I finally got my butt in gear to watch it. :)

No, not you too on the cold front. Seems everyone has one this time around and they are hanging in there. Gah! Hope you feel better soon too.

I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hope you get well soon. :)

I feel the same for Agents of Shield. I till will stick it out a bit longer; hope it gets better.

Of the new shows, however, I've TRULY enjoyed Sleepy Hollow. The casting for Ichabod is wonderfully yummy, his co-lead... she's a bit stiff in the acting but she lends to it a genuine quality that I can embrace. She needs some voice lessons to get her off this nasally quality to her voice when she speaks. It's a bit annoying, but that's my only real gripe.

Grimm comes back October 25 and I've really loved that show - it took about mid way through season 1 to get me there, but it's gained momentum since. Then, November 4th, super excited for Almost Human's debut. Karl Urban and Michael Ealy- I'll be in heaven for certain. :D

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Thank you!

Sleepy Hollow is really holding my attention too. They're even fast-tracking it to TV here, so I don't feel the need to find it other ways. Yay!

I never got into Grimm. Maybe I gave up too soon, but all the characters annoyed me in the first few episodes and I'd already given up on a bunch of fairytale based shows. Maybe I'll try it again one day.

I wonder if we'll get Almost Human out here. It looked pretty fabulous from the shorts. :D

Nice to hear from you. I've been ignoring LJ and I've missed everyone. xx

I'm enjoying Shield, much to my surprise, as I don't do superheroes. And although I liked Buffy and Angel, I wouldn't consider myself a Whedon fangirl. So maybe, it's better to see it as a solid, genre show which might capture you, may not.

I do love Agent May though...so few words, saying so much. :D

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Yup, we'll see. I plan to give it half a season to warm up. It feels a little B-grade scifi atm.

Hello! *waves*

*waves back*

LJ is indeed quiet. One day I may get my finger out to post something new!
