Favourite Andoid apps, huh? Let me name a few I think are useful:

- Equalizer: If you wanna use your phone to listen to music, this might come in handy. Has lots of presets.

- ES File Explorer: I quite like this if I want to look for files on my phone, like downloaded PDFs or something along those lines.

- Facebook, if you use it.

- Fast Reboot: Saves you the long shutdown/startup thing if you want to free your memory or if one of your apps craps out on you.

- Gauge Battery: Has battery saving options and adds battery status icons to your taskbar thingie.

- IMDb. Quite like it if you quickly wanna look something up.

- imo. A multi-account chat client for Android.

- Juice Defender: Another battery saving app, and one that actually works.

- K-9 Mail: If you want to download your POP3 e-mail to your phone, I find this one works better than the pre-installed one.

- MyPhoneExplorer: Great if you want to connect the phone to your computer and make backups or transfer data. Works much better than my stupid HTC Sync thingie.

- Photobucket: If you wanna upload pictures from your phone to your photobucket, provided you have an account.

- Skype: Don't actually use it much on my phone, but, heh.

- SoundHound: Music recognition app. Love it.

- To Do List: You can save notes with it but also create to-do or shopping lists.

- Tumblr: If you have an account it might be useful. Works quite well, but is a little slow to react sometimes.

- TweetDeck: I prefer this one over the official Twitter app because you can add multiple columns for timelines, searches, or hashtags you want to follow.

- Twitpic: If you tweet photos on a regular basis.

- Vimeo: I think Vimeo doesn't let you watch videos on an Android phone unless you use their app. I think it only works if you have a Vimeo account.

- WhatsApp: For sending text messages via internet without charge to anyone who also has WhatsApp installed. I've heard talk about it only being free of charge for one year, then they charge you, but I don't know if it's true.

- Widgetsoid: Great app if you want to customize your buttons on your desktop. It lets you add horizontal bars with shortcuts or toggle buttons for brightness, WiFi, ringtone mode, etc.

- Winamp: I'm sure there's other apps to listen to music with, but I've always been a fan of Winamp.

- YouTube: Yep, they have their own app as well.

In terms of games, Angry Birds is definitely fun. The Star Wars version of it is even better than the normal one. I also have a version of Solitaire installed, as well as Random Mahjong. Not much of a gamer myself, but those are what keep me distracted if I'm bored. :-)

I think someone mentioned in a comment you should install your bank's app. I personally would be careful with regard to doing bank transactions on your Android phone. You keep hearing about all these security leaks that Android's prone to, so I have sworn never to do anything with my phone that uses my bank data unless it's an emergency.
