I only managed two episodes before I gave up! Didn't care about the characters, the story, the situations. Didn't particularly like the actors. (And I LOVED Thomas Dekker In Sarah Connor and Heroes!) Didn't find the plot remotely interesting. It kinda felt like a cut price copy of Vampire Diaries with witches!
Ha! That's funny, because I tried Vamp Diaries when it came out and barely made it through two episodes. I was bored silly! I'm told I should watch more because it gets better. *shrugs* Each to their own, I guess.
As far as being a copy, they're both based on a series of books, so I think that's rather harsh.
Well, it's really not the sort of thing I usually watch, but it pulled me in. I think it's mostly because it's over several generations of characters. The main characters are the teenage witches of the circle, learning and messing up as they go, but then there's all this intrigue with their parents generation and what really happened back then (*vague hand-wavey gesture so as not to give things away*) and then there's The Elders (the grandparents) and the various secrets they're hiding or controlling... It's got more depth than you initially might think.
The main character does make me want to pull my hair out on occasion, because she trusts everyone and therefore gets the circle in trouble (she's a bit Mary-sue special too), but I still kinda like the characters despite that, because it's all a necessary plot device, so you tend to forgive her. :)
Don't know whether you'd like it or not, but you can always try it. It's based on a series of books for young adults, so you sort of know what you're getting into from the get-go. There is a lot of teenage angst, but so far it's not really bothering me.
