*Sigh* At least he's English. Unless they insist he puts on an American accent, seeing as you can't have an English hero in an American show (Hugh Laurie, Joseph Fiennes, Ryan Cartwright).
Actually they don't seem to like Australian heroes either, do they (Anna Torv, John Noble, Dominic Purcell, Poppy Montgomery, Anthony LaPaglia, Alex O'Loughlin)?
Last I heard, the BBC were looking into suing the US channel (can't remember if it's NBC or CBS) who are making this latest rip off - I mean - this latest version.
Wow, really? I wouldn't have thought they could claim any ownership considering Doyle is out of copyright and it's all an extension of that. It'd be a little like claiming copyright on fanfic wouldn't it? *curious*
Anyway, this is the first I'd heard of Elementary. The Americans rarely do Sherlock Holmes justice, so it'll be interesting to see what comes of it.
A part of me wonders if they've cast JLM just so they can make news out of the Frankenstein connection and now the Sherlock connection...
Yeah. Because the script and the style etc. maybe is considered unique and therefore under copyright... Not sure. I guess then it would depend on how similar it really is.

I've no idea who this bloke is but considering how badly most of these US re-imaginings go I'm fairly sure we'll see 1 season at the most.
