Internet and TV withdrawls = rambles

Well actually I'm at work now, but after two really stressful nights, in which I realised I am addicted to my computer and the TV and I had neither... *freaks out* ...I finally found the damn fuse box and I have them back! Yes, the stupid thing was outside and I could have done it anytime, but for some reason I was sure it was located inside the business that shares the house I live in. I finally stalked the secretary this morning and she knew where the damn thing was. So if I've not been very active on the net, you now know why.

Anyway, apart from that, I had such a nice weekend. I caught up with three people on my Friends list, which is amazing to me, because I never thought I'd be meeting anyone on my friends list.

Friday night I was dragged out to a cruise...that was tiny and full of loud music and other drunk PhD students. I was drunk in a few seconds, because my alcohol tolerance is teeny tiny and I was tired as hell, so I blurred around pretending to be social for the entire FOUR BLOODY HOURS of cruise shippy hell goodness. Of course I then told my friends that dragged me how much fun it was. Bleh!

Saturday was much better. Slept in, set up my new cheap-assed DVD player and had rinkle over. We watched mostly Stargate SG1, though the plan was to go all DS9. We did watch the tribble episode of DS9, where they crossed over with the original series. Man I *love* that episode!! Then we watched some of S8 SG1. I missed most of S7 and S8 somewhere along the way, so they were all new to me. I should probably drop my stingy ways and buy the DVD's while they are still going for $50.

Sunday, I met up with derry667 and mcalex22, plus my office buddy (the one I proudly converted to SGA! Woot!) and we saw V for Vendetta.

If you haven't seen it yet, I won't spoil it, but GO NOW! It's an awesome movie! It actually made me pause and think too, which is the last thing I expected from a movie based on a comic book.

Then we had dinner and mostly discussed SGA, which was fun! Like LJ come to life. Really fun! If a tad surreal! :p

Anyway, I'll stop rambling now. I have a cold, which is what I get for venturing into the real world so much on the weekend I guess, hence the icon. I only wish Carson would come and make me all better. *sigh* But it was worth it! I can see this is going to be one of those odd years when my "IDONTGETSICK" motto will fail me miserably. Bleh!

And I've probably given you my cold, because my brother has one too, and he saw me on Friday.

Eh, don't blame yourself for the cold. They do the rounds and I was out a lot on the weekend, so it could've come from anywhere, anyone.

Sunday was fun. We'll prob catch up again, so next time you should join us. :D

I always think massive explosions when I hear the 1812. We used to go to "The Beating of the Retreat" every year when we were kids, which is where the military cadets graduate. They play the 1812 as the finale and have canons exploding and fireworks, so it always seems fitting to me. *grins*

I want to see the movie again. I kept missing bits and pieces, because it was so full on and the mask sometimes made it hard to follow the intense dialog. *Loved* it!

I'm addicted to my computer, too, I can understand you so well! Two days without it is severe withdrawal.

Oh it must be great to meet people from the f-list, I'd like to do that, too! Won't happen, I think. But I guess it can also a little weird, or surreal as you said, when real life meets the virtual life. :)

Thanks. I'm already feeling a lot better today. Just really tired.

I never imagined I'd meet up with any of my f-list, but it's just happened and it's they really are nice, normal and interesting people. Plus, since I started my LJ as a place to hide out and just be *happy* me, I almost feel like they know a different part of me to most of my friends. That's the most surreal bit.

God it's good to have my computer back! Perhaps I need an internet anonymous meeting to attend next time it happends. :p

Haha! It was surreal for me too! But certainly a great pleasure to meet up with all of you. I never expected you all to such great delight and as geeky as me! We really should do it again some time :)

When my comp crashed a while back, I felt like someone had cut off my legs! It was awful... yes, I know what you mean about the net.

That was way too much fun to not have a repeat. Maybe this time with junkfood (We can find you some sugar-free coke :p) and popcorn and many SGA DVD's! rinkle would most definitely join in the fun, so that's like four of us...and Amy...and Derry's friend??
