Does anyone have a favourite name for the Bates character. I need a first name for the fic that I'm writing, but I can't remember any of the ones other people have used. Please do tell, because I'm not a big fan and I'll likely give him a name you'll all hate. *grins*
I don't want to give away this fic, but assuming I ever actually get it into words on the screen, it shall be cracklicious!!!! I have been giggling gleefully over it since I first suggested it to
rinkle and I was babbling about it to
crumpets tonight and I really have to just write it somehow. The plot just keeps getting thicker and it's hard to know where to start.
Oh and I want to write a follow up green goo fic to finish the little McKay/Sheppard series off. It just never felt finished. But, the little fic has become rather long in my mind and now I'm not sure how to do that one either. I'd love to add in the current
artword prompt somewhere too. It just seems sort of right, since the other two were written as artword challenges as well. Sort of poetic or something, but I don't think I can write it fast enough. I'll see.
Gee gads! It's raining cats and dogs here! I have a small piece of tin roof on my house and wow that's loud!!
I nabbed a couple of Joe Flannigan shows the other day. The Tru Calling episode he was in and that Gramercy Park thing where all the shots that everyone has of him and a baby are from. Honestly, I was far too amused by half my flist apparently clutching their ovaries at the sight, so I must see that one for myself.
Soooo I have some watching to do tomorrow, in between writing and cleaning. I think I may spend my Saturday hermit moding again.
Plus if I don't watch the rest of BSG and SG1 S9 soon my friend is going to burst with not telling me what happened. *grins* I've had the eps for ages and just haven't got around to watching and it's rather amusing listening to her trying not to give it away, but I should watch it soon, so she can spill. ...and also because I want to of course. Hee! So much to watch and so little time.
I just wanted to add here that I cooked...yaha! I have smoked salmon risotto and you know that means I had to open wine to cook and I couldn't waste the rest, so I'm rather mellow right now...and mellow = rambly in my world, but it's all good. Oh and I have chocolate gelato! *grins* The world is good!
...plus I have a nifty new thing called Semagic, that lets me play with posts offline and save them for later and adds in html for me and I can see my tags, so i won't keep doubling up on them...and it is good! Woot! You can even colour your text with it...the html for which I never bothered with. *big colourful grin*
Anyway, so about Bates, anyone got a favourite first name, or should I name him like Boris or something? :p
Yes...Sergeant Boris Bates! That amuses me no end! Better hurry! Oh and he is a Sergeant right? Enlisted man yes? Which makes Ford his superior, something I only just realised. *is amused again*

Anyway a first name? hum... Norman? lol Lucian could be cool, or Frank maybe? If I find something better I'll tell you. Boris is ugly and doesn't really suits him I think...
The Tru Calling episode he was in
He was in a Tru Calling episode? Season 1 or 2? Season 2 is currently aired here, so that would be great!

Had to check out an episode transcript for that Tru Calling, and I vaguely remember it. My sister has the eps, so I should watch one of these days properly.
I'll try and do the things I'm going to send you in the next week or so.

Also, I think I've seen Emil used as a first name for Bates, and I must say I'm rather fond of it.
