Damn you photoshop...can anyone help?

Is anyone good with Photoshop? I was paying with it adn making a pretty picture (well ok for me) and all of a sudden it refuses to let me do anything. It keeps displaying the message "Could not use X tool because the target channel is hidden."

*frowny*

Anyone know what that means? I can't find anything that says hide/unhide channel and I have no idea what it's talking about.

I've never had that particular error message before. Did you make sure that the layer you're working on was selected and unhidden?

I selected it in the toolbar thingy on the bottom right hand, where they are all listed. I can't figure out what 'hidden' means. I seriously need a dummies guide to PS. *headesk*
It magically started working (mostly) again though, so I think I'm ok. Thanks!

Hee! Whatever it was went away and I made a pretty. I'm all proud now. I usually hate stuff I make in PS. Posted it in the next post. Yay!
