Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] crystalsc. Flash back to a time in my life when I could watch movies repeatedly. *sigh*

The Old Favorites Meme
List 5 movies you used to watch on repeat. Movies must not be from within the last 3 years. Post one of your favorite quotes from each film.

Flatliners
Nelson Wright: You bring the equipment, I'll bring my balls.

Dirty Dancing
Johnny: It's not on the one, it's not the mambo. It's a feeling; a heartbeat.

Ever After
Danielle: Say it again.
Henry: I'm sorry.
Danielle: No. The part where you said my name.
Henry: Danielle.

The Jewel of the Nile
Jack Colton: Just keep smiling. Maybe they'll think we're with National Geographic.

Strictly Ballroom
Liz: What do I want? I'll tell you what I want! I want Ken Railings to walk in here right now, and say 'Pam Shortt's broken both her legs, and I wanna dance with YOU!'
[the door flies open. It's Ken]
Ken: Pam Shortt's broken both her legs, and I wanna dance with you.
Kylie: That was unexpected.

It's been ages since I've seen Strictly Ballroom *makes mental note to hire it* Great aussie movie, that!

Dirty Dancing. Yes!
I always quote "I carried a watermelon" to my sister if there's ever an awkward moment:P

Hehe! Yeah or the "Nobody puts baby in a corner" used to get quoted whenever someone got stuck in a booth seat and couldn't get out. :P

We have that and Strictly Ballroom on DVD. :)

I'm scared of how many times I watched the movie Flatliners when I was younger. *g* It had a good cast though and lots of tight jeans. Plus I rememebr coming home from class one day going "OMG! I know why he used Potassium to stop his heart!" and feeling a tad nerdy. :)

Whenever I think of "That was unexpected" I can hear the little girl saying that.

"She's got no body flow."

"She's terrible."

Strictly Ballroom for the win...

And Ever After. That's such a gorgeous movie.

I know. That's one of my fave bits, where they're all critiquing the possible dance partners. Hehee! :D

Good to see you've taken the day off work! Hurrah for sick days!

I have a friend who took a sick leave and flew all the way down to Melbourne from Sydney to see Roger Federer at a function here in the CBD. XD

Isn't flatliners the one with Kiefer Sutherland in it?

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Yep, I did. :)

And yep, starred Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, Oliver Platt, Julia Roberts and William Baldwin. Quite the line-up. :)

Oh, Ever After, I so adore that movie. And Strictly Ballroom :)

Bought Flatliners on dvd, haven't seen it for a decade or two, so it will be interesting to see whether i still like it.

Yeah, I have flatliners on video somewhere. I should dig it out again too. :)

Ah, I love those lines from Ever After! So romantic!

I just recently rewatched Jewel of the Nile (and the one before it, the title escapes me at the moment! :o) Much fun!

Hee! I love the first 4.

The only one I've seen recently is Dirty Dancing. After Patrick Swayze passed away I watched a PS movie marathon with my bff because we just adored him.

Gah, I haven't seen Flatliners or Jewel of the Nile in forever. I loved Romancing the Stone also.

I've never seen Strictly Ballroom, but I love the quote from it. I wonder if I can find it... *wanders off to search*

Oh Strictly Ballroom (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105488/) is a classic Australian movie, chock full of Australian humour and one of Bazz Luhrman's earlier films (before he got all famous and big budget). :)

It's brilliant! I'm sure it'd be available on Amazon.com or something. :)
