I'm way late with this, and I've only seen one of these on my f-list so far, so PLEASE LINK ME TO YOURS! PLEASE!
THE RULES
Step One:
→ Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related (fics, graphics, etc.) to medium (books, dvds, etc.) to really big (computer, house, pony!, etc.) The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
→ If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. [Note: Your home address is not required!]
→ Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ.
Step Two:
→ Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list.
And now here's the important part: If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My 10 wishes:
1. Please link me to your wish list. I love seeing if I can fulfill the wishes of others. :)
Other wishlists found: Missyvortexdv, Sarlania, Thehappyreturn
2. Nobody wrote my Happy-making Free-for-all Comment Fic prompt. I think I got to the post a bit too late. If anyone wants to write it now, it would amuse me greatly. :)
3. Make me some cover artwork for any of my fics. All my fics are listed in the sidebar under My Stuff -->
4. Could someone make a Life on Mars (UK) vid to Save Me by Jem. It'd so work. Really. And I've been meaning to make it forever, but I doubt I ever will. Anyone? Please? (I guess it'd also work well for Ashes to Ashes if you'd prefer.)
5. Leave a really uplifting comment on three different people's LJs. Tell 'em how much you love their vid/art/fic or just let them know how much fun they are to read about... whatever you like as long as it's uplifting. Spread the Christmas love and then just leave a comment here letting me know you did it (no details of who or where necessary). :)
6. Make me a wallpaper with the pretty S2 High Res promo pics that they had of Gwen from Merlin in the purple dress (or the one of the dragon... or even Merlin and Arthur or Gwen and Morgana... Hey I'm not fussy!) But yeah, some nice wallpaper. I like wallpapers that have a fair bit of open space in them. :) The promos I'm talking about can all be found at Merlin's Keep under "General Season 2".
7. Send me a photograph of your Christmas tree or seasonal decorations. Having your pets in the picture is a big plus. Spam me with twinkly lights and tinsel and if you have a favourite ornament that comes out every year, please point it out.
8. Send me a recipe. I eat pretty much everything, so I'm not placing any restrictions on food groups. Send me a family favourite or a cake that works every time, or the best hot curry, or your famous pot pie or... whatever. (Easy-to-make morning tea ideas are especially welcome. We have a roster for morning tea at work and it's so much fun coming up with something different to feed the team.)
9. Find the most tacky seasonal e-card you can find and email it to me at starrylizard[AT]gmail[DOT]com. Tinkly music, animated crazy, bad puns... you know the sort of thing. (I ask for this every year and it is awesome seeing the crap-tastic glee you guys can dig up. I love it, seriously.)
10. Write me a Supernatural/Friday Night Lights crossover (gen or het, please), set in Season 1 of FNL (because I'm still watching S1), in which there is a haunting in the high school (Panthers locker rooms?) and Sam and Dean work with the Riggins and any other characters you like to stop it. Bonus points for some Dean/Tyra or Sam/Tyra interaction.

Let's start with 5...
I count myself incredibly lucky to have you on my flist. When I think about how/why it came about it makes me smile. You're always a joy to read and your infamous late comments never fail to make me smile. We may not interact all that much these days but I still count you amongst my very favourite flisters and I hope we will be friends for a long, long time to come ♥
*hugs muchly*

As for #8, I'll get the recipe to you tomorrow. It's a family favourite, and very easy to make. =)

Ingredients
5-6 tomatoes
4 eggs
1 stalk of spring onion
½ teaspoon sugar
Salt and soy sauce to taste
Method
1. Cut tomatoes into eights (or quarters if you prefer larger chunks). Chop up the spring onion roughly
2. Break eggs into bowl. Whisk until slightly frothy and add a little bit of salt (approx ½ teaspoon) and soy sauce (same)
3. Fry eggs, but not so that it is completely cooked. Remove from heat.
4. Add oil, fry the spring onion until fragrant. Add tomatoes until they soften but not wilt completely
5. Add the sugar, and fry for another minute or so
6. Add the soy sauce and salt, to taste
7. Close lid and steam for a few minutes
8. Add the eggs and fry slightly. Remove from heat and enjoy with rice or noodles.

I give you... Nigel Slater's No Tears Onion Soup. It gives me constant joy and makes a great winter starter. I wish I could be precise, but I tend to cook without quantities/timings and then forget what the recipe writer first specified ... sorry. However, this is as easy as falling off a log. I tend to go for one onion per person.
- Peel and chop brown onions into eighths/largeish sections
- Roast them until they are just beginning to caramelise/blacken at the very edges (you can do this the night before).
- Dump the onions in your soup pan with a large glass of white wine and put on a gentle heat.
- Make vegetable stock in the roasting tray to pick up all the flavour, then add to the pan
- Season to taste
- Simmer until it... looks like onion soup
- Serve with French bread gruyere croutons. I find it helps to toast the breads both sides first, and then grill the cheese on it. It stops the croutons going all sloppy.
So, er, basically it's no different except you roast the onions first. But the advantage of this is you don't get any of that boiled-onions taste, you don't have to cry your eyes out chopping, and it is intensely richer and sweeter and more fragrant.
I'd love it if you tried this. I'm doing it tomorrow night for a dinner party. :D

3 I'd like to but so hard to choose. Is there any in particular you want any for? Any direction you can give? I am so bad at picking.
7, hopefully I will do anyhow...
8.
Quick tiramasu mmmm love that and friend tried it too and he did alright with it even being non-cooky

I tried some french candy cookies the other night and they were wonderful, so buttery and just moreish, but don't yet have recipe :( Have asked and can pass it on if I do.
There were also marble topped oat bars we had as a Comic Relief recipe which I can totes recommend (very fattening but SO worth it) but again need to dig up the recipe, probably at my parents.
This I have not tried BUT it looks awesome for leftover, curry soup

I can recommend ocado.com recipe in general - they're online shop so they want to make people buy the stuff for recipes but they don't restrict it to registered users so anyone can look up recipes there. :D

Sorry. Possibly not helping, but I have an attachment to quite a few of them. If you really want me to pick, I will. But don't feel obliged. :)
OMG! I love tiramasu. Definitely gonna try that! And thanks for the site tip. :)
Thank you! \o/
