Matt Smith, I hope you'll be a fantastic Doctor. *tips hat* I'm sure I'll enjoy discovering it all over again with you... just like I did with DT! :) And if you suck, I'm sure people will hit you with all caps for real then. Please don't suck. :)

Seriously, were people this bad when Nine decided to leave? I'm glad I wasn't in the fandom back then.


Oh and there's a cute interview with David Tennant, in which he talks about why he's leaving the show and is just generally cute and enthusiastic. Over here

I'm actually relieved. Was so worried it would be some huge well known actor and that the person would be bigger than the role. As far as I'm concerned they're doing the exactly right thing bringing an unknown to the role. He'll be all shiny and new and can bring something different to the role and none of us will know what to expect.

Exactly! I haven't seen the confidential yet, but from the reports he's exactly what I was hoping for. I was really worried for all the same reasons. This way, the guy can just make it his own with no preconceptions on my part. It should be fun! If it's not, people can break out the all caps then. :)

I, for one, think we'll be alright. I wasn't sure, but then I saw his interview. He looks dorky, he looks a bit loony, he looks excited. It's gonna be fine.

People didn't like the idea of Eccleston being replaced, and they vowed to never like Ten. Now, look.
People went apeshit when Donna was announced as the companion. Now, look! :)

Oh I do know how it is...in all fandoms unfortunately, but somehow I just assumed Whovians might be a little more mellow. Was I ever wrong. lol *hugs* I think they've done just the right thing bringing in an unknown actor. It's nice to discover a role rather than expecting something because of the person playing him... or something. :)

Hee, my brother was the one who alerted me to the new doctor, it was on SMH!

I'm glad he's relatively unknown and from the interview he seems very promising! Although now we probably have to wait till Christmas time to see him in action! I can't believe there's so much fanfare over him already!

I will miss DT! I think it was a commentary where Julie Gardner was saying how they asked DT to be the next Doctor and he replied "I'll have to have a long coat"!

I think I read that RTD might be having a different companion for each of the 4 specials. And yeah, I wonder how "old" the new companion will be for Eleven...

Um, it's not in the ep. *scratches head* They've just announced who 11 is gonna be in about a years time when the specials have finished... DT is doing 4 specials next year, before 11 takes over...

Sorry, ignore me - I was in a net cafe, in a rush, and I didn't read your post properly.

Heh, I've managed to avoid the detailed news so far (yay for travelling and being away from one's computer - and sadly, the new Doctor doesn't exactly make the news here in Japan :D), but I'm looking forward to reading up on the new guy ;)
