Title: The Heist
Music: Hey Puchuko by Royal Crown Review
Fandom: Supernatural
Clips: Up to episode 2x19
Summary: The notorious Winchester Boys escape from jail. Will they be able to pull off one final great bank heist and escape with their riches? Tune in to find out...
File: wmv, 37mb (high res) or 19mb

Notes: My first attempt at using Sony Vegas. All tips, comments more than welcome. This took me ages to make, but yay for new toys! :) Thank you so much to Kayla and Jen for all their Vegas help! You guys are great!

EDIT (July 18 '07): I finally figured out how to save properly in Vegas, and I've also fixed a few tiny glitches in the file. Pretty high res. version now available from Arwen's server, with thanks. The low res file is still the same dl as before.

Download at filefront here (18.89mb)
or from Arwen75's server here (37mb, right-click and dl) Thanks Arwen! :D

I love this song! And I love how you spliced the clips together! *loves all over* Seriously! And it's so not typical, all rock, the swing suits this so well!

Thank you so much! You just made my day! *dances*

I love Royal Crown Review and I've wanted to make this vid for ages, but WMM just wouldn't cut it. I'm so glad it worked for you! :D

Yay! Thank you! It means a lot! *bounces*

And seriously, thanks so much guys. I still only know how to use maybe 2% of the functions I can see on the program, so I'm sure I'll be bugging you guys some more. *showers you with flower petals* :)

(Love that icon!)

Awsome! yay for sepia filters and double timing it! I loved that they find the regular Joes bloking the bridge after they've escaped the swat team, and then they cut through the fields :)

Are we having fun yet? ;-D

Nice understated use of effects... nah, save that stuff for not_the_reel (which I have to email you about actually)

I love this vid. It sheer unadulterated FUN!!!

I might grab a hard copy of the big version from you when the gang meets up again next. Ummm... are we all gonna see the Pirate movie perhaps? :-)

Yup, inbetween cursing at the program and gleeing over what it can do.

Nice understated use of effects... nah, save that stuff for not_the_reel (which I have to email you about actually)
And that was just the effects I could find out how to use! *grins*
(Oh? Okay??)

Hee, I still have to see the second movie, though I'd be up for seeing the third with you guys and I'll bring a copy next time we meet up. Vegas has two sizes, huge and tiny. I ended up running the huge version through WMM to make it smaller. :)

This was a really clever constructed reality vid! Nice job. It was bunches of fun. Very, very nice work.

hey, can I ask you a tiny technical question? does Vega allow you to import dvix clips? 'cause I know wmm allows it, but it's not a very practical program, and premiere has very shiny functions but doesn't work with dvix... I'm trying to find a happy medium

Like most programs, it's fairly fussy about avi files. Most of my files have video, but no audio (which doesn't really bother me), but when Yokiem tried, he files had audio and no video (which is far more of a problem).

Both of us have found that this free program (http://www.zshare.net/download/avic-exe.html) (as pointed out to us by the lovlies over at Supernatural video station) fixed the video problem and sometimes fixes the audio problem too.

Instructions:
1. Open the program.
2. Click the little folder icon and choose the .avi file you're needing to convert.
3. In both of the spaces above, change the codes (which will usually say divx, XVID, XviD, or something similar) so that they both say "DIVX" The letters MUST be in caps and you MUST change both parts of the code.
4. Click Apply (this will NOT alter your file's ability to play or produce sound)
5. Click okay.

I don't know if that helps. Maybe it'll help with Premere Pro too?

Cheers
SL

heh i love the icon too lol I couldn't NOT snag it when I saw it ;)

Seriously, you're not bugging us; we LOVE helping vidders learn the art of Vegas. Hell, I'm still learning the art of Vegas--most of what I know, Kayla taught me anyway lol Can't wait to see more of your stuff hon!

Thanks! More questions coming soon... :)

I have an idea for the latest challenge. Just have to figure out how to do it and hope you guys don't mind a little more crack... my vidding muse is kinda cracked most days. :)
