Eeeeeeeee! Our paper has been accepted to BONE with no revision! It's totally unheard of!! ...and it means I am soon to be the proud owner of my very own first-author paper!!! *dances about in happiness*
In other news, I've just realised that everything is due at the moment and I'm about to be broke. *headesk* Thank goodness I've got some savings, but bleh!
OK what I need to pay before 8th Feb:
* Car registration
* + once again I have to get a pink slip (car inspection) - yeah right I believe you that cars are randomly picked...NOT!
* Car insurance - already paid this, but I owe my parents the money, because I had to use their credit card to pay - stupid credit limits!
* CTP Greenslip - I rang yesterday and asked very politely why I have to pay the under 25 insurance rate when I turn 25 about 4 days after this was due and *pats herself on the back* they agreed to give it to me for the over 25 rate...saved a couple-o hundred bucks! Still got to go pay it though *frown*
* University fees - yeah University of Sydney is the most fee-ridden university in Australia. I'm a PhD student and therefore don't pay hecs and yet...over $300 in fees! Yeah right...what the hell is a building fee...I'm off-campus too you morons!!
* paid the usual phone bills today already
Okay and I really want a computer too! I can still afford it, because finally the damnable scholarship people reimbursed my Nashville conference trip...yay! for getting back the $$$ I was owed!!! Why in the name of god they sent the cheque to my parents address in Canberra though...?? I can only assume it was the address on one of the credit card statements.
...Oh well at least the paper acceptance cheers me up!
Oh and another thing that cheers me up immensely is that Dinosaur!Rodney is back...with pictures too! Go see, it's the cutest thing ever, though this time he's not plushie, but I think it's even more adorable and I really didn't think that was possible!!
