That was a fun read. I liked this look at Sam at Stanford on his own. His nervousness about the house came across well, how he's the only one in the group who really knows what's out there and while he's capable and competent to handle it, it's not anything he wants to be mixed up with. Competent!Sam taking charge, yay.

Nifty ending, too.
