No one is online for me to squee to, so I'm afraid LJ gets it.

How had I never even heard of this show until I saw it in JB-HiFi yesterday? First ep and I'm riveted. It's like all these little threads of seemingly unrelated mystery coming together into some big old conspiracy. Hopefully it'll keep up the pace.

Also John Simm is gorgeously scruffy and Philip Glenister is all clean cut DI. *squee* :)

British TV owns me at the moment. All these great shows I never knew about or have only managed to see bits of and now I can watch them all. It's like wandering into a video store and finding you've seen almost none of the titles and tehy're all fresh and new. I used to watch much more on the ABC - before the place I moved into had almost no reception for it. The power of the internet has reconnected me. :)

Hehe... it's a good show, isn't it?!?!?!

It's gets better and better and you find out the real story!

And it's got Bill Nighy and James McAvoy!!

Yes, Bill Nighy! :) *cough* I'll probably sound stupid, but which one is James McAvoy? I'd IMDB him, but my internet is barely functional tonight, so I'll settle for looking silly.

Hee... I don't want spoil you for which character he plays in State of Play but I think appears in the latter half.

ah ok. Perhaps that's why I'm not sure who you mean. I usually connect names when I see people's faces.
Though, even the minister-dude who was sleeping with the dead chick (um, phrased that badly, but ya know what I mean) looks familiar. I'll look up the actors tomorrow. :)

I was going to link a page with James McAvoy but then I thought you couldnt load the page. But he was the lead on "Becoming Jane" with Anne Hathaway and also going to be in "Atonement" with Keira Knightly.

I forgot Danny was in it! Haha.. he really suits playing dodgy characters!

Ya know, you guys keep telling me about Becoming Jane, but I still haven't seen it. I'll look him up on IMDB today at work.

Looks like he has a fangirl club right here in my LJ. :P

yep yep yep. Actually I think I talked about it in comments with you. :) Awesome show, though it scared the pants off me. O_O

I've also just started watching Spooks. Seen s1 and 2 and I have my hands on S3. It's really intense. Brittish telly FTW!

Oh I keep meaning to rent that.

Loooooks so goood. XD

It has James McAvoy in and being the sad stalker I am, I must watch it.

Ahhh, State of Play!! I watched it in giant three-hour chunks because I couldn't stop. So. Wonderful.

enjoy!!

Hee! Funny you should say, since it's going on 11:30pm and I just finished episode 3. :P

Now trying to decide whether to watch ep 4 or hold off until tmorrow. *bites lip* I'm gonna go shower and maybe watch ep 4 in bed. :P

Addicted! So very addicted!!

*giggles* I think British TV may own a bit of us all now. I used to watch more ABC before they went crazy and they shows went downhill writing-wise.

I've never heard of this show either, I'll have to look it up on wikipedia. *grins*

Yeah, I remember one holidays when I tuned in to ABC every Friday night to watch a mini series. They had "Armadillo" and "Wire in the Blood" among others. I still have those two on tape. Lately it's been Doctor Who and Life on Mars, so they're playing some good stuff. I think I just have trouble knowing what is good to watch. :)

Finished the first 4 episodes of State of Play back-to-back last night. *yawns tiredly this morning* It's good so far! Very good! :)

State of Play is just bloody awsome. For the record, British TV has slowly started to own me since 2002/3 and I discovered Spooks... the obsession has grown from there.

As for McAvoy (although I'm sure you've already looked him up by now!), he played Macbeth in the recent BBC retellings, and is his newest movie is Atonement, opposite Kiera Knightley. Don't know if that helps at all, but thought I would tell you what I knew.

Yokiem just pointed out which one McAvoy is. I must admit I haven't seen McBeth or Becoming Jane or the ads for the new movie, but I do recognise him from somewhere. :)

I discovered Brit TV when I found Armadillo and the Wire in the Blood, but after that I kinda drifted away from the ABC again. So I guess it's a rediscovery. Just currently watching Spooks. Almost up to S3 and it's awesome. We caught some of the latest Season on TV in NZ and it had all different actors, so I'll be interested to see how that happens.

Also watching Hustle. Just finished first season, which was cool! Love LoM, obviously, and I've finally been converted to Doctor Who love. I just got some Silent Witness and I know I liked that back when I saw it on TV, so shall watch that as soon as I have the time! In short, Go Brit TV I say... and enjoy the accents while there.

Oh and how nice is it to have real actors rather than just pretty boys and stick thin models?? *sighs happily*
