Bumfuck!

Why does this word appear in every Supernatural fic I read?

It can be a really cute little wee!chester fic, or an angsty Sam-is-evil fic or anything at all really, but they are always in Bumfuck Middle of Nowhere, or East Bumfuck!

Who started this trend!

The first time I saw it, I though it was mildly amusing. It's got to the point now where if it isn't a great fic, and I see that phrase, I'll pretty much want to stop reading right then and there. I just notice it that much.

Find something original people!

Heh. When I first heard that expression, it was from my friend, Amanda, when we were ghost hunting down south of the state.

Reading this finally made it click in my head. Bumfuck is a shout out to Deliverance where there's bumfucking aka red-neck hillbillies butt-raping.

Isn't that such a nice way to refer to a place? People should try to stick with 'Middle-of-Nowhere' or find a new phrase.

Hee! I know what it means! I used to read a lot of slash fic in other fandoms.

I dunno, maybe they all like the movie, but somehow I doubt that people are thinking about it that much... just using the same expression everyone else is using. *shrugs* I dunno!
