Printers and cheap DVDs

OMG! Just went to JB HiFi and Babylon 5 DVD box sets are only $45 per season and if you buy two, you get one free.

Just got all five seasons of B5 and, since I could get a sixth boxset for free, I also bought the second season of Without a Trace. How could I resist? Yes, I know. I spend my money rather erratically. :p

Incidentally, Alias, Nip/Tuck, Without a Trace, ER... all similar deals. Woo!


What I was actually doing in JB HiFi though was looking at printer/scanner combos. I haven't had either a printer or a scanner for ages, but sometimes it's nice to read something on paper for a change.

Does anyone have a view on which is better: Epson, Canon or HP??

I'm thinking mostly in terms of the printers. How long the cartridges last compared to cartridge price and whether the colour/B&W components of the cartridges can be replaced separately.

Also, if anyone knows whether any of these printers are any better at printing photos and what a reasonable printer is (I'm thinking fairly bottom range here) in terms of printing resolution.

Any advice would be helpful, otherwise I'm likely to go with the Epson, just because it's currently on special at Dick Smith Powerhouse and they all look fairly similar to me.

Woohoo! Finally yokiem has been brainwashed into delurking enough to get her own LJ. Go friend her and make her welcome.

In the meantime, she had asked me to post her latest vid up here. (I assume she will post it to her own journal at some point.)

Anyway, this is for the silly comm daysofatlantis I am trying to set up. As you know, any good soap opera needs an opening theme and credits and yokiem had fun making me some. Here it is.
