Eeek! I had one of those annoying nights last night. One of those nights in which sleep comes only very lightly and in short bursts and in between these small bites of sleep your brain decides to mull over absolutely everything, good and bad, work and play, friends and acquaintances.......everything. So I did the only thing I could do, the only thing I know how to do.....I wrote a list of course. The top item on the list when I got up this morning was cleaning, so I figured that it must be important to me, and I spent most of the day cleaning all of the nooks and crannies in my house. It really doesn't look any different, but I know its cleaner and so that leaves me with at least a small sense of control and accomplishment.
Other than clean house, I took in the new movie version of Pride and Prejudice with a couple of friends. The one starring Keira Knightly. I personally thought she would never carry off the role in a blue fit, and being a huge fan of the BBC version (which can and has been watched over a whole day marathon style), I really wondered how the heck they would possibly fit it into the time limitations imposed by a movie. Considering these thoughts, I was happily surprised by the movie. Keira Knightly actually performed admirably in the role and it was like all the really good bits stuck together in little overlapping segments, blended together and well it really did work quite well. I still like the BBC version better though and they left out a couple of my favourite scenes, including the line where Lizzie says "Actually my feelings are quite the opposite" to Mr Darcy and my whole family, especially my sweet dad find our eyes welling up with tears. The guy who played Mr Darcy (Matthew MacFadyen) was awesome too; very handsome. It was bugging me as to where I'd seen him before, but I think it was form the few times I watched Spooks and he was in Enigma too. How did we ever live before google?
