Yeah, so two little conferences, one three minute talk and a poster presentaation, a 75th anniversary of my building, and some bad news (my wonderful grandmother is doing poorly) later...

Hello all. *sigh*

I'm back to the daily grind, tired, kinda feeling woogly for no reason, and I need to get writing on that thesis and I'm so uninspired. Lucky I joined [livejournal.com profile] wrisomifu (Write Something You Miserable Fuck - an alternative to NaNoWriMo), which happily counts my PhD thesis in the definition of "something". I think my fan fic is getting more written on it than the damn thesis though.

Hope everyone else is well. I have been bad at keeping up with you all.

*hugs*

*joins you in the sigh*

*huggles for your grandmother and you*

Oh, and my fanfic is definitely getting more written on it then my thesis, but that's probably because I'm writing in the bath.

I've decided to leave Firefox closed on the whole at uni, and leave chat logged out, so that would be why you won't see me around.

Thanks for the hugs.

That's okay. Sensible really. I do that some days too.

Thanks. *cuddles*
We got more news tonight. Grandma seems to have rallied and is doing much better, but they think it may be mostly because mum said she was going over to help. It's good news anyway.

:) Grandparents have this thing - they're usually quite good at it, too - that they only go when they're ready for it.

Thankyou! Heh. I guess this is me being a sad sap. *hugs*
My grandma is apparently doing a bit better now. It's hard to get good information from the other side of the world, but it sounded very hopeful. :)

Distance is hard. :( I was fortunate that both grandparents lived in the same town as me, so I saw them on a regular basis. Only one of my grandmothers is alive today and it will be really hard when she goes. She's 89 and her health is pretty good but she is noticeably slowing down.
