I'm confused....

My Ride of the Wraith vid - large version - plays fine on my PC. I then upload it to Arwen's server and when I download it, it will only play the first 45seconds or so, before it tells me that it needs a codec or the compression is wrong... o_O

Anyone know what is going on here?

I've uploaded it twice now. The full file downloads, but won't play. I mean I made the vid, I can't possibly be missing codecs.

Thanks, though it'd probably be a waste of download. The link is still up, but I put a strike through it until I figure it out.

I only became aware of the problem, because another girl tried to dl it and it happened to her, so it's not just me. I just don't understand it. I can only assume my upload at dial up speeds is doing something funky to the file...?

That's very weird. Hmmm, yeah it may be the dial-up. The server thinks it's getting a certain amount of data but your connection might be timing out and not sending the lot.

I downloaded it too to test. And yeah, it stops around 10 secs in for me. It is possible that it's because of dial-up. Do you get interrupted at all when uploading?


(By the way, you are nuts. I downloaded the small version and you... are nuts. Well done.)

Yeah it does get interrupted, but I use an upload manager and it uploaded the small one fine. *huffs*

Thanks for checking it for me. Maybe when my broadband speed kicks back in, I can reupload then...
