I have a new laptop! AND Nanowrimo anyone?

Ahhhhh new laptop. Yay! Been wanting one for a while and finally got myself and my money together. In order to get close to the basic specs I wanted, I was made to buy a "gaming" laptop. LOL. I don't think that was a thing the last time I bought one. My old laptop had the equivalent, for the time, of these specs and it didn't need a glowing keyboard. Ha!

So now, maybe I'll be able to vid again. Trying to figure out the versions of Sony Vegas is doing my head in though. The latest Pro version like I used to use is outta my price range. Thinking the other version will easily suit my vidding needs though. Will download the 1 month trial once the muse hits.

Is anyone looking to do Nanowrimo? I'm seriously tempted, especially now that I have a laptop (i.e. means). But most of my novel-shaped ideas are not very well formed. ;)

I have commitment issues too, but I'm thinking there's no real shame in failure as long as I try, so I may just try. Gonna see how October goes, as work is a mess right now. Maybe we can goad each other along. ;)

Hmmm...I shall think on it. My muse is being fairly kind right now.

Well maybe worst case you can use it to take your mind off it. I don't envy you guys. So glad we don't elect the primeminister, just the party, as judging on our current senate as voted by the people... Australia is racist as f#*k. *sigh*

I'll be doing Nano again. The first drafts of each of my books have been written during Nano, no reason to change the process now :)

Oooh how wonderful! I'm thinking I'll give it a go and even if I fail badly, I can try again in July/August with more of an idea of what I'm in for. I'm reading the book right now and loving the idea of the freedom of it. He claims you don't need a plan or a plot just to put in the time and focus on the goal.

I set my word goal at 55K and that means I only have to manage 1663 words a day for 30 days. You can do that, right? :D

The word count isn't quite as scary as having to meet a word count with no clue what to write. ;-)

It's called 'No Plot? No Problem!' and is written by the guy who started Nanowrimo about his experience with it and tips etc for how to survive. It's quite funny and makes it all sounds like an adventure. :-)

For most of mine, I have a premise, not a plot. They work themselves out somehow. You can do it!!
