You know, I reckon that Wells is Professor Zoom, just a guess. And if so, maybe he did murdered Barry's mother and saved his life in the hopes he become The Flash. Yeah, I think that is the general plan. I just find it a pity, because once he is revealed as a bad guy in one way or another, I can't imagine he'll remain a major cast member... and I adore him.
As for the movies, the interviews I've read with Stephen Amell etc. seem to indicate they are completely separate from the TV shows. A whole other franchise and unrelated. Therefore, they won't have the same actors. Stephen Amell is on record as saying he thinks they should have Grant do the Flash movie role and he was disappointed with the decision to keep the movie and TV show separate.
