Seven Days of Self Promotion - Day 2

Something new? I haven't written or vidded anything lately... except one little SPN drabble and a multi-fandom vid for a friend's sermon. But I have ideas galore, right now.

There's a SPN case!fic I had all plotted and started to write back when S2 was airing and then it got Kripke-d and I was so frustrated I stopped writing it. I've hauled it out and I'm mulling over re-writing it to be a S3 fic instead and just acknowledged Kripke beat me to the whole pentagram thing. We'll see how I go.

Vidding-wise, I'm collecting together some nicer quality files so I might be able to have a go at SPN again. A few songs have hit me as strong possibilities. I'm on a Jamie N Commons kick at the moment and two of his songs seem perfect for SPN:
- Jungle [youtube link]: Would totally do for a general awesome vid. Lots of running and evil and no God.
- and Devil In Me [Youtube link] for Sam and his whole demon-blood/Lucifer story line.
And then I've gone and found the perfect song for Season 4 (I think, just re-watching that now). It's so perfect I'm terrified to share it in case you all tell me it's been vidded 10,000x already. Ha! But the idea seems pretty solid.

I'd also love to do some podfic, but I've traditionally kept to British shows where my accent isn't quite so weird. What do people think on that front? If an Aussie reads a story where the characters are American is it weird?

Heard that Jungle track on The Blacklist and thought someone is going to have a ball vidding that! Good luck, they all sound awesome and don't worry about a song being vidded already, there's always room for a new interpretation.

Your case!fic sounds just great. I have a thing for fic from or about those seasons, and if it doesn't comply with the rest of the series, that's just fine, as far as I'm concerned. I just love finding out what people were imagining, feeling and thinking before the rest of canon came.

As for accents - noooo! From what I've heard, people are comfortable with people with any accent doing whatever show they like. Go forth and make SPN podfic, please! There can never be enough!

Oh, Blacklist, that's another show I should catch up on sometime. I wasn't sure it was leading anywhere though. I did notice it has a good soundtrack. Jungle is such an awesome song. I just can't quite decide what to vid, or whether to just go crazy and not worry whether there's a story as such. ;)

Thanks. I love case!fic, but I've never tried to write a proper one. Hopefully I can get this one going again. :)

That's nice to hear on the accent front too. I've had people tell me that they need an authentic accent, but I guess each to their own right. :)

The Blacklist I'm watching for James Spader, I'm not one that has to watch everything an actor does, but when they create a character I like then I'm really happy and Spader is brilliant at cold, sharp and deadly charming and although the show itself is pretty much run of the mill, his performance makes it very watch-able for me.

I think Jungle is one of those tracks you can just pile in the action sequences without worry of a story, it's the rhythm and the beat that will drive, think you'll do great at it.

He does play the role very well. I'm maybe mid-season 1, but I'll likely watch more sometime.
