This is so cruel and yet I want to join so badly. It's like the Big Brother of writing challenges, where a writer gets voted out each week by the readers. I'm only just resisting on the basis of being far too busy to commit to 8 weeks of writing challenges. Right! I am really! Even though there's probably no way I'd be there by week 8, so I probably could do it.

*stops herself from entering only just* I wanna enter! Mwaaaaaa! *wibbles*

Hee! As much as I enjoy positive feedback and the ego boost it can give me, I also love a challenge and this just looks like fun to me. As much as I'd love to get through a few rounds, I honestly wouldn't give a toss if I got knocked out right up. It's just the way I am. If I enter, it will be with a sense of sillyness and fun. If that makes sense.

From reading your journal, I wouldn't expect you to join in. That's cool though. I just hope people who feel that way are sensible enough not to join. :D

I don't know if I could actually vote someone else's fiction the worst for the week though. The voting bit would make me sad. If I join, I won't have to do that anyway. :p

And, a little bit of friendly competition never hurt anybody... I'll be squeeing for either of us if we make it through to the following rounds.

Although, if I made it all the way through to the end, I might need you to sms me the challenge in late September, I'll be away for 5 days without internet access. But, it's several days before the story would be due.

Oh, this was in 2003. A post would go up, matching two Harry Potter BNFs against each other, and then everyone would vote for which one they preferred. There was no opt in, though you could opt out if I recall.
