I actually cooked the other night. I got hungry for stew...all Skein and her addictive fic's fault...she's also the reason I'm going through large chocolate cravings at present.

Anyhow, I've decided I should be a good girl and start cooking properly again, since I do so love cooking when I can be bothered. Cooking for one can just become such a pain sometimes.

Anyway, the thought crossed my mind to look for inspiration on LJ and found all these cool comms.
This one ([livejournal.com profile] a4seduction) looks amazing.
Appetite for Seduction is a bi-monthly video podcast launching in February 2006.

The show explores the sensual world of cooking with aphrodisiacs in fun and creative recipes to create a sensual meal that will induce romance, stimulate seduction and spark love. Shani Castri, also known as the "Sensual Cooking Diva", takes a journey through New York City’s neighborhoods to gather ingredients and consult with culinary experts the effects of aphrodisiacs on the libido and their romantic history.

Subscribing to Appetite for Seduction will convince you that a meal is the perfect opportunity to celebrate sensuality through fiery foods that stimulate our sexual appetites. Maybe that can give Rodney and John more culinary ideas Skein. *nudges*

Then I also found these:
[livejournal.com profile] cooking_club
[livejournal.com profile] cook_4_2 all about cokking for one or two people...useful for me. :D
[livejournal.com profile] all_recipes The background image alone had my mouth watering.
[livejournal.com profile] choc_recipes Oh yeah, a whole LJ community for recipes containing chocolate. Mmmmmm!
[livejournal.com profile] cooking
[livejournal.com profile] cooking_101 These guys seem to give quite detailed instructions - very good for me. *grins*

Hey anyone got any favourite quick and simple meals. I'm not a fussy eater - will eat just about any style or flavour and love trying new tastes and styles, so if you feel like sharing with me, please do. I *heart* food!! Nice to know LJ does too.

I love to cook but hardly ever have time. If you like homemade hamburgers then I have an awesome marinade for the meat. All you need is a sauce called raspberry chipotle sauce (you can find this at your local grocery store :p) and a teaspoon of liquid smoke. Add that to the hamburger meat and cook like usually. I guarantee that your hamburger will taste wonderful!! *big grin*

One of my favorite recipe sites is : http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/lf_quick_easy

For quick and simple recipies try [livejournal.com profile] easier_than_pie. It's quiet right now, but there are a lot of good ones there. [Unknown site tag] and I are mods.

Oooh I'll have a look! Liquid smoke? Never heard of that either.
Love your icon. Reminds me I don't have a Cadman one yet. Don't take offence at my icon, I'm hungry.

Wow! You're a mod in loads of comms huh!
Thanks! Will do.

Huh, I guess I am. 1 is kinda dead, 1 maintains itself, 1 daisy runs and I just tag along, and pie could use some work. So I'm not the most successful mod. :-)

The memories are mostly up to date, so things should be easy to find. I need to work on that this weekend. :-)

Wow! Livejournal really does have communities for everything, doesn't it!?!? Those cooking ones are a great idea though ...

Anyway, one of my favourite recipes is a really easy quiche - rather than having to make the pastry base first, you just use pastry mix, and literally chuck all the ingredients in together. You can add anything you want to the list below - I often have it without the bacon, and add heaps of chopped veggies instead ... Here it is:

Easy All-in-one Quiche

3 eggs
¾ cup pastry mix (packet)
1 chopped onion
¾ cup cheese (grated)
½ cup bacon (chopped)
¾ cup milk
½ cup chopped parsley

- Preheat Oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 Degrees Celsius)
- Mix everything together
- Cook 30 minutes (or until set)

Your welcome! Yeah liquid smoke is kind of like worshester(can't spell the silly word) sauce. It should be with the bbq items. No offense taken to your icon. It's cool!

I loves my icon.

Look where the BBQ sauce is...gotcha. So I shall. I haven't made hamburgers in ages.

Sounds good! I've never heard of pastry mix. I'll have a look next time I'm at Coles.
Really easy is something I can do! :D
