Yeah, it seemed like something the writers must have actually thought about and something that this season is making more prominent. I mean Sam has always believed, always prayed. Dean, not so, or at least he said he didn't.
Then Sam starts to realise he has these dark powers and such and Dean is rescued by an angel. It's all... it's all leading somewhere and I find it all fairly subtle at times, but very intriguing. Somehow I think that scene was actually a big step in this progression for Dean. Poor boy! *pets him*
