Yay, holidays tomorrow! My bus leaves in the early afternoon, but I still have to clean my house, wrap some more gifts, pack a suitcase, contact the neighbours... hmm. I'll get there I'm sure.
Yesterday was food, food and more food. We have a tradition of secret santa at our lab, in which santa gives clues to the recipient as to where their present is hidden in the lab. There were some dooseys of clues this year and much hilarity and amusing frustration, followed by lunch at the local club. Then we came back to the lab for champaign and unwrapped our gifts and explained how we found them. Then, because I hadn't already eaten enough, I was invited to my supervisor's place for dinner. It was lovely and man have his kids got big. His youngest is just gorgeous - all big smiles and bright blue eyes. (NO, I'm not clucky! *covers ears and sings*)
For some reason I have the urge to write a short McKay/Teyla or a McKay/Weir piece. Anyone feel like giving me a prompt? I'll promise to contemplate it on the 12 or so hours of travelling I'll be doing over the next two days. I seem to mostly write angst these days.
I should also have a go at writing some original fiction and maybe I can still get one in for the uni thing. I doubt my thesis is going to be written at all while I'm away, though I'm bringing my laptop and a copy of my papers file and introduction chapter. Something might get done.
Oh and wander over to
newkidfan's lj. She's making an SGA quotes moodtheme, and is after suggestions. Looks like it'll be great fun, so go and share your fave SGA quote and the mood you think it might fit with. :)
Happy Holidays all!!
P.S. Thanks to
nightfreya and
reedfem for the ecards! Very funny guys. They made me giggle. :)
