I was reading [livejournal.com profile] cupidsbow's flashfic entry and it's all written in Haiku. I've never really understood these, though they do make a lot more sense when it's not a computer randomly generating them.

Anyway, I did a little internet search out of interest and this amused me.

The art form remains very popular today. For example, in Japan, traditional Microsoft error messages have been replaced with haikus.

Windows XP crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
No one hears your screams.

I seriously want that message. How much better does it convey the feelings I have for that damn bluscreen of death?!!

Oh and there's a random Haiku generator here, which generates haiku from your LJ entries. It picked my atlantis_lvw entry.

a short space of time
at least not without running
and he off again

Then it picked my Sateda commentary:

was about 15c and
raining here today bob joe
never lost a hunt

Hmmmm. I think there's something in that for everyone, don't you? NOT!

DUDE! That error message is priceless.

And that haiku generator? "Hours of mindless fun". ;D

Yep, completely mindless. *hits refresh* *giggles*

I wonder if we can reset our error messages on XP, so that we get haiku's too.
