A quick post to say I'm still alive. I haven't been commenting on posts much, but I'm following all your posts still (on my friends list), like a little fly on the wall of your lives.

I have my reasons for being quiet, mostly I don't want to be putting sad/downer type vibes out on the interweb...a happier place there is none and I hate to spoil that.

Also, damn just watched Sliders ep 1.1 and OMFG! SIMON! (...or I should say the actor that plays him!) He's all resistance fighter in army gear and it made me giggle something insane. I tried to make some screencaps, so I might spam you with them at another time. Also there was a guy looked just like Walter Harriman, but I think it was my imagination.

SG1... I love the new team. It's all a little cliched at present, but it's all new and shiny too! (I'm up to ep 9.17 I think, just so you know to avoid spoiling me...) Cameron is definitely nice and I've always loved Sam. I missed most of S7 and 8, though I've seen bits, but please tell me when Daniel became military commando guy? It's a little unsettling for me, though the extra arm muscles have me almost convinced that it's not all bad. :P

How cute is the SGA 2.8 commentary? I was listening on my mp3 player on the bus home and trying so hard not to giggle out loud. Didn't work and I swear the guy next to me thought I was insane. Ha! The Evil Kneavil (sp?) comments and the whole..."he shouldn't pick at it like that!" *dies* Joe sounded way more relaxed than usual too, even though he kept getting cut off. *pats him* Hee! ...and David's voice just makes me all weak at the knees any time. I'm such a fan girl.

Maybe he's found that he breaks too many pairs of glasses, so uses contacts instead now, and maybe his antihistamine is good enough that contacts won't bother him.

Although, I kind of miss sneezy Daniel, too. Can't we have the occasional sneeze?

I thought you meant to say "doesn't he" and no he doesn't seem to. He just shoots lots like rambo. I want him to read some ancient texts and talk linguistics babble. Rambo Daniel confuses me. Yeah throw in some sneezing too...but I don't miss that quite as much as the babble and the glasses.

That does occur at some point, I'm fairly certain. Although, after 8 years on the team, it's probablt pretty correct character development wise. He's someone who adapts to the culture surrounding him.

Yep that's my thought too, but since I was most into SG1 in the first few seasons and missed much of 7 and 8, it seems to have just happened. From my POV anyway.

Nope. That's Walter. Paul McGillion also appears briefly, as does Major Griff from SG1, and a whole bunch of other people.

It was filmed in Canada, at least for a while. Whaddya expect? :D

Okay, I really should start watching my sliders dvds again...and seeing as I can't really remember much about it, start at the start again.

*nod* You really should! Ton of them them in it, all with weird hair. (Except for PM who's just plain HOT.)

I think Sliders was my first real sci fi show. I can remember never wanting to miss an episode on Friday - as opposed to Star Trek, where my cousin would be mid-episode mid-marathon when I decided to sit down too.

Hehe, Sliders??? It started out good and then kinda degraded!!! I lost track of it in later seasons - and yes, as someone else pointed out, Paul is in Sliders. I have a clip of it if you're interested - I think Reedfem was the one who shared it.

I missed a lot of S7 and S8 of SG1 too and just dived straight into S9. I'm not going to spoil it for you except to say that I really liked the episodes and the season finale was good. The team interaction is also fantastic even though Cam is new.

And yes the Condemned commentary is excellent! It's funny and entertaining - Joe should talk more but I'm guessing that he either needed to do an ep that he liked or he's more comfortable with big talkers like Martin and David - because there's a lot of jokes floating around. :)

Oh well I bought seasons1 and 2 of Sliders on DVD, so I'll see if it's there first. :D Yeah, I remember they finally replaced Jerry with his brother and had some weird plot where they swapped bodies or something. Weird, weird, weird. Oh well.

Yep, well I may go watch some more SG1. At least at the rate I'm watching it, I won't have to wait long for the new series. :P

Its amazing to see the change in Daniel through the seasons... but as

rinkle said, it makes sense that he would be more "militarised" (I'm sure thats not a word, but I like it!!) after so long on the team... I remember a few scenes in Season 9 where he was shooting in a very "commando" style, and I wondered where my cute dorky Daniel had gone --- but I love him either way!

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that laughs at loud at commentaries, and scares strangers with it!! I've done that in my car (and noticed people laughing at me in neighbouring vechicles) and I've done it whilst walking my dog. I just love it though! :)

Yeah, it's fine that he's got buffed up and more action-man-like, but I don't see why they've taken all the dork out of him. It is there still sometimes though and I am enjoying the witty, sarcastic and plain silly comments that are being thrown back and forth bt Cameron and Daniel.

Hopefully Sam will get more to do soon. It seems like Dan and Cam are sort of stealing the limelight a tad and I always liked Sam.

If I were to just jump into the fandom for the first time now, I'd expect much Cam/Dan slash. *wonders if she's right* I'll have to find some SG1 communities and check out the fic at some point just out of interest. :P
