Shopping rambles
I went shopping again today and, as per usual when I shop alone, I come back with absolutely nothing of actual practical value.
What I bought:
1) I reordered the DVD of Nothing, this time from JB HiFi, since the other store still couldn't get it in.
2) While I was there, I found they had a copy of "The Island" for $13 and since I've yet to see it, I couldn't resist. I've heard mixed reviews on this one, but it should be nice to watch just for the Ewan perving, if nothing else.
3) I wandered into another store to find "The Muppets" displayed on a big screen and, like everyone else who had wondered in, I stopped and giggled at it. They were playing the Munamanah song scene...you know "Manamanah...doo doo dododo...Manamanah...doo doo dododo...Manamanah....doo doo dododo dododo dododo dododo doo doo dodo doo"
Totaly had to buy it. You can get the whole S1 of the muppets for just $20! BARGAIN!
4) I always peruse the $5 books outside Angus and Robertson, but today I found something that made me giggle insanely for a few minutes, earning me a good many weird looks, and after that I had to buy it...rather sheepishly! :p
The book is called "The Imposter", has an impossibly good-looking man and woman on the cover and here's the blurb:
THE MAN IN THE FOUNTAIN
Melisande St. Claire knew who she was and what she wanted, and then Flynn Patrick stepped out of the water and into her life, Melisande knew that his was the face of which she'd dreamt. But despite his mesmerising blue eyes, the man was not an aristocrat -- and therefore not a fitting match. Worse, when she was forced to travel with the handsome stranger, he claimed he was from another time and made suggestions that were hardly proper for a nineteenth-century lady.
Then, though she'd believed no one could mistake the handsome yankee for an English gentleman, the Duke of Merestun swore that Flynn was his long-lost son. Suddenly, Flynn seemed a prince and all that Melisande desired lay within reach. But what was the truth? All Melisande knew was that she sensed no artiface in his touch -- and as she fought to remain aloof to the passion that burned in his fiery kiss, she wondered which of them was truly ... THE IMPOSTER.
Gahahahaha!
*giggle fit*
*dies and is dead*
...and yes, it did have all those atrocious punctuation no nos. I didn't add them in. I was thinking though, that I believe this is the first romance novel I have ever bought.
Oh and I also bought a Robin Cook novel. While I tend to find his books somewhat cringe-worthy, in that his characters about as as three-dimensional as cardboard cut-outs, his plots do focus on the evils of biotechnology...an area, which for obvious reasons, both amuses and terrifies me. Plus it's fun to read how much he can simplify down the genetics for the lay person.
Well that was it...I think I'm going to sit here and write some fic. I had the most strange idea on the way to the shops for a story involving three separate DH characters...in the same fic. I think I'm going insane.

Whereas, with JV hi-fi, they will just get it from another store. The MacQuarie Centre one doesn't have it but I think the Pennant Hills one does. It took them about a week or 10 days (but this was over the Chrissie/new year break) to get mine. No there are no extras on it but let me know if you want some - I can point you in the direction.
I saw the Island in the cinemas last year, and like you, I was perving. I love love love Ewan and that white (did I mention skintight) outfit he wore did lots of justice! :)
God, is that book some Harlequin romance thingy? It sounds so cheesy!

Um it is VERY cheesy and yes I think it is a harlequin type thing, but not harliquin brand or whatever. The cover is giggle-worthy all by itself. I was thinking of writing something fro the harliquin sga community, so maybe this will be sortof fun :p
Ooooh skintight? Really? Ok I'm sooo watching that tonight.
..and yes, extras please. You cna email me if you don't want to point me to it in an open post. I want the extras. Course I haven't got the DVD yet. miracles could happen I guess.
(This reply was brought to you by too much sugar and caffeine. :p)
