Just out of interest...

What are you all watching these days? New stuff that is. Shows that are running now. The main ones I'm watching are below, though I'm probably missing a few things. Feel free to hit the ticky boxes for fun and comment with other stuff I should be watching and why. My fandom interests are definitely in a state of random flux lately so I'm open to suggestions.

On to the poll...

[Poll #1547192]

Er, only SPN? lol Don't really have much time for anything else :\

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 11:28 am (UTC)(link)
*pets* But you watch it avidly! :)

Castle (OMG, I love this show so much)
NCIS
NCIS:LA
Numb3rs (well sort of on now)
Medium (Love)

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 11:30 am (UTC)(link)
Really? I've heard mixed things about Castle. I may try it one day.

I think I've finished S2 of Numb3rs now. I'll have to check and see if I got through all the DVDs I bought. :)

I quite like Medium when I catch it on the telly. I haven't ever caught eps in a row or anything though. It's nice show. Love the family. Maybe one for DVD one day. :)

Castle is light and funny (and sometimes serious) and has one of the best female characters on TV. My sis just said 'believe us'. ;-)

Medium is wonderful--great family interactions and interesting cases.

[identity profile] ficwriter1966.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 11:54 am (UTC)(link)
24, American Idol, The Good Wife, NCIS:LA, FlashForward, Being Erica, Psych, Bones.

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 12:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Is Flash Forward getting anywhere? I started watching it and then got coy, because it felt like it might go the way of Lost. What's your impression? I'm sure I can still catch up.

I really like 24 back in Season 1. Maybe that'll be something I can buy on DVD one of these days. They're up to the 6th or 7th season now right?

I've seen the odd ad here and there for The Good Wife. Maybe I'll tune in and see. :)

Thanks

[identity profile] krazykitkat.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
The Good Wife is fabulous. Gave up on Flashforward a while ago.

And give Castle a go :)

[identity profile] ficwriter1966.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, FlashForward is (finally) moving along at a brisker pace - with these first few new episodes, they've answered a lot of the initial mysteries, then have gone ahead and laid down some more. There's still a lot going on, which is probably very confusing for a lot of viewers, but I feel like it's getting somewhere.

24 is in its 8th (and final) season. Some of the seasons were considerably better than others, so if you're going to buy the season sets, I'd recommend poking around and looking for recommendations as to which were the best.

The Good Wife is really excellent. They give the majority of screen time to the female characters, which is a nice change - and they're all interesting and three-dimensional.

[identity profile] irismay42.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 01:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I watch all of those, but unfortunately we're still waiting for Chuck season 3 in the UK. :(

I'd also add Leverage to the list, although we're only on season 1 of that! I like FlashForward (because it's nearly all Brits in the cast!) and Bones can be really good (while it can also be really bad!)

The jury's still out on Ashes to Ashes. We've only had one ep so far!

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-05 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! :)

[identity profile] my-sn-therapy.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Out of those...just SN:)

I second a vote for The Good Wife, that's a great show. I'm still a Survivor tragic, and I've been suckered in to watching Friday Night Lights.
I'm hanging out to see The Pacific when it airs here on tv soon; Band Of Brothers was an amazing mini series.

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-05 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh I got dragged into FNL too by Dragons. I'm just up to S3, so kinda behind. :)

[identity profile] tringasolitaria.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Shows that are running right now? Of your list only Chuck and Fringe. Doctor Who and Mentalist I'm watching via DVD so I'm behind everyone else.

Other than that....Castle, NCIS, NCIS:LA, Human Target, CSI:NY, In Plain Sight.....I think that's it. There's a few others that are on hiatus right now, but those are the ones currently running.

I love your banner! :) I just finally watched that episode last night. :) Can't wait to see the next one!

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-05 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I wasn't sure people would kill me for posting a spoilery banner, but no one has so far. :)
Wow you watch a lot of stuff. :)

[identity profile] ash48.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh I'm still HOOKED on Fringe... just love it! We're into season 2 now... episode 6 I think we watched tonight...

we've also just started on Leverage.

Other than that... it's SPN all the way. Though I like NCIS when it's on. And Dr. Who is ok to.

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-05 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh Fringe only gets better second season. :)

I've heard people talk about Leverage; I'll look it up sometime. :)

[identity profile] pavaneofstars.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm current with SPN, a bit behind on Fringe (made of awesome!) and quite behind on Who.

[identity profile] tiggeratl1.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
#1 SPN = still #1 with a bullet for me ;P
#2 Dexter = this show just blows my mind. I love it!!
#3 Fringe = I love the character development in this show
#4 Bones = Having always been a avid Patricia Cornwell reader and my love of David Boreanaz just about guaranteed I'd be a Bones watcher.
#5 The Vampire Diaries = I was a little iffy about this one when it first came out, but it's won me over.
#6 Misfits = [livejournal.com profile] dazzlebug introduced me to this show and I've fell in love with it!!

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-05 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I still can't handle the idea behind Dexter and don't plan to watch that one, but I know most of my flisters are hooked on it.

What's misfits?

[identity profile] looleebelle.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
The Mentalist is the only thing on this list that is currently aired out here. And I'm sorta ok with that. Although I'm rather smitten with Castle right now, too.

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-06 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
Hee, I know stuff hasn't aired in Oz. We never get any of the good stuff. :(

Just f-locked this post, cos comments are going the way of the dl. :P

[identity profile] looleebelle.livejournal.com 2010-04-06 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I meant in terms of our shitty outback TV. =P

Good to know we're generally deprived in the same manner... LOLz.

F-locking is probably a good idea, either way. Good choice. =)

[identity profile] looleebelle.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, and Bones. When they're not repeating episodes I've already seen. *hurmph*

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-05 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
They keep repeating The Mentalist too. Grrrr
caffienekitty: (sambrella)

[personal profile] caffienekitty 2010-04-06 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
Also Criminal Minds, Torchwood, CSI:NY, and a few other things when they're on and I happen to notice.

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-06 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not really into cop shows, though I do try from Rinkle's sake. I kinda got into Numb3rs, but I'm still in S2.

Is Torchwood back on? I haven't heard a peep from Torchwood since the big 4 parter.
caffienekitty: (torchwood)

[personal profile] caffienekitty 2010-04-06 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
No concrete word on Torchwood yet, but a hell of a lot of rumours I'm ignoring for the sake of my blood pressure.

By all rights, given that it's math and puzzle-solving, I should be all over Numb3rs, but I tried it a couple times and didn't get any attachment to any of the characters. Also, titles that have numbers in place of letters irritate me, because for some reason they make me feel like I have a migraine coming on. No idea why.

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-06 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
I think did hear somewhere there may be another 4 parter of Torchwood, but I'm sure it was just a rumour. I don't know where they'd go with it after the way they left it, but I'm sure if there's money up for grabs they'll manage something.

I did like the way the brother relationship seemed to be developing in Numb3rs. Kinda similar I guess to why I originally liked Supernatural. But I'm way behind and not trying that hard to catch up. There seems to always be other things I'm keeping up with that I'll watch instead.

Speaking of which, new Chuck tonight. *happy dances*
caffienekitty: (ooo!)

[personal profile] caffienekitty 2010-04-06 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
How close are you to North American pace?

*looks innocent*

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-06 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
I have no idea what you just asked. You can like swing onto email if you're being cagey...

Nevermind I just f-locked the post. I'm dling in American time if that's the question. So I'm attempting to grab 3x13 as we speak. Slowest dl ever though.

Chuck has never played in Australia. Though I bought S1 and 2 on Amazon recently. :)

caffienekitty: (facepalm)

[personal profile] caffienekitty 2010-04-06 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
I meant is your new episode the same one I just watched tonight in Canada. The 'Pace' thing is a holdover from when Doctor Who used to air a week or two later in Canada, and therefore there was "UK Pace" (as they aired in UK) and "Canada Pace" (whenever CBC got around to airing them) to determine generally what was still a spoiler for whom. No secret codes, really. XD

ETA: Ah. Cool! Look forward to your reaction about it in the morning then! ;-D

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-06 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
Bweehee, so yeah. Um are you at USA pace then? Cos there is no Australian pace. I'm on USA pace I believe. :)

Ah you edited. Good good. :)

caffienekitty: (smile)

[personal profile] caffienekitty 2010-04-06 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
Canada and the US are most often at the same pace, at least for shows from the US.

CBC stopped airing Doctor Whoo before the Tennant specials and there's a high-tier cable network I don't have access to that will be carrying the new series sometime in the middle of this month I think, but I personally won't get to see it until May or June probably. Which sucks but not much I can do about it unless iTunes starts carrying it, which it might *crosses fingers*

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-06 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
I may have to stop watching stuff soon if my Dad gets too mad. he's suddenly annoyed about my dling ways. But we can't even get stuff on iTunes. *hands* I tend to order the DVDs when they come out and hope that that atones for my sins. Whatevs.

This is still the slowest dl in the history of dls.

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-06 09:24 am (UTC)(link)
OMG! There are no words! Holy freakin' shit on a BBQ. Emotional roller coaster much! O_o
And Chuck had to, but now they're and Casey is all... Eeeeee! \o/
caffienekitty: (yay)

[personal profile] caffienekitty 2010-04-06 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I know! And Morgan? With the talk? And then Casey? O.o

Hee!

Schedule-wise, I believe Chuck is on a two or three week hiatus now. They only had a partial renewal initially so this would have been the finale, but the back 9 got picked up (yay), so there's more coming.

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2010-04-06 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, see that felt like an action-packed finale-style thng once again. The poor writers must be trying so hard to to jam themselves into a corner. I'm so glad there's more though...even if I have to wait. :)
