Yay! Ask and ye shall receive.

My back has been killing me, especially my neck and shoulders, because I sit still too often and I hunch over my laptop etc. I asked about it today, because ouch pain! and was provided with a cordless keyboard and mouse and a laptop stand. SWEET! This is so much better!

I also bought a book yesterday about backpain and how to avoid it, which gives some simple tips for people that work at computers a lot (among other things). I can post some of them a bit later if anyone is interested.

The Intergalactic Adventures of Lieutenant John Sheppard in the Twenty-First Century by harriet_spy (PG, Gen)

When John loses his memories, we get a glimpse of a much younger version of Sheppard. I just love the idea of this one and it's executed very nicely. The younger "Second Lietenant John Sheppard" is so impulsive and excitable and the friendship from the other team members is lovely to read.

WMP?

For anyone not aware of it, apparently the latest version (version 11) of Windows Media Player contains a program that prevents your computer from playing DVDs not only on WMP, but on other media programs as well. Apparently it's very hard to remove from your computer and it sounds like you really don't want to download it.

If anyone knows more about this and can verify it, please let me know. I'm afraid my computer will automatically update. *wibbles*

Oh and apparently it doesn't play songs purchased through itunes! This seems untrue, since PC Magazine goes on about how well it integrates itunes. clicky

Hmmm, This is interesting! O_o Some people found that changing the computer date fixed it??

Yet another person getting annoyed Might be a setup problem??

So from what Rinne and I could dig up, it looks like it might be system specific and only some people are having issues. Also, there's a distinct possibility that the problem is the program deleting codecs or drivers that other programs also use. Either way, it's probably not as bad as the original post suggested. Hmmm.
