*flops down in defeat*

I just flipped back through my friends list about six pages. Can't. flip. any. more.
I love you all. I'll just assume you'll update me if I missed something really good.

Has anyone got any really good ficrecs? Surely there was a rush of fic over Christmas. Any stand outs?

Holiday pics are still to come. I'm too lazy. Plus you can listen to my baby cat purr. I taped it on my mp3 player. She was going crazy, purring so loud she was practically drooling. She's been left alone far too long, poor baby. I wish I could bring her up here. She's brilliant company.

Hmm, there are plenty of fics at [livejournal.com profile] undermistletoe and [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa. But uh, many of them are mckay-sheppard or smallville ones and not all are the best.

If you don't mind a john-rodney one, I just read oasis by [livejournal.com profile] blueraccoon which I liked because it's not overtly mushy and goes on for a while in a realistic manner (warning - yes there is sex which may be a bit graphic towards the end).

There's also Long Distance Call by [livejournal.com profile] eretria which I thought had great characterisation and no sex but john-rodney (though she's listed it as "ambigous"). I just love stories when they "dont' talk about their feelings" and aren't too mushy - blame it on [livejournal.com profile] derry667 influencing me!

Speaking of [livejournal.com profile] derry667, like you, she's back! She is spending time with family in the arvo tomorrow but is otherwise free in the evening. I've asked her if wanted to hang out and she's fine with it.

Cool! Thanks for the recs. :) (No, I don't mind McShep or a bit of the old NC17 rating...you know that. :P)

Derry's back yay! I talked briefly to Yokiem and we're still planning to meet up to go to the NYE fire works and she said she'd worked that out with you. She's meeting with friends for shopping earlier in the day, so if you want to see a movie or something with little old me, feel free. Otherwise I'll bludge around or join in with the shopping.

Or we could go swimming if the weather is good. *shrugs* I don't know. I'm not into planning atm. :P

See ya tomorrow. :)

Wow, that was close! I was just having dinner and just finished. I'm just about to go make myself a banana split since wee, my mum missed bananas so much and decided to buy some (the price was still a bit high but lower than previously!)

Actually I was going to forgo swimming till Monday - I've been good and doing more than I normally do! I thought I'd popped by Kathmandu tomorrow in Chatswood and do some "winter" shopping for my trip. I wanna get another of those "Mt Everest" type tops. Won't mind having dinner with you and if you'd like we can watch a movie. I'm warm to that Ben Stiller one or I bought "Waking Ned Divine" from JB hifi today and we can watch that if you'd like.

Sounds fun! I'd love to have dinner with you. :)

Yum bananas. Must get me some of those.

What's the Ben Stiller one? I'm told The Holiday is cute if we were to go to the movies. See comments above. :P

A DVD would be fine too though. I'm collecting all these random DVDs lately and I'm yet to watch them and I remember Waking Ned Devine was good. That was the one with the lottery ticket right? Very funny!

The Ben Stiller one is the Musuem one. The Holiday is the one with Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz - sort of girlie love-romance stuff, which uh, I'm actually not the biggest fan of... (this is where I go all anti-mush like [livejournal.com profile] derry667 - apologies but I'm probably one of the few around who never liked Sleepless in Seatle or The Titanic etc).

We saw both the previews when we went to see the Bond stuff. I'm not going to be a spoilsport though - I mean I don't really mind teribbly as I like Jack Black and Jude Law. However depending on time, it might just be dinner. I'll be walking around and shopping in Chatswood I think. How about I give you a call tomorrow? :)

Okay. You do that. :)
