*flops down in defeat*

I just flipped back through my friends list about six pages. Can't. flip. any. more.
I love you all. I'll just assume you'll update me if I missed something really good.

Has anyone got any really good ficrecs? Surely there was a rush of fic over Christmas. Any stand outs?

Holiday pics are still to come. I'm too lazy. Plus you can listen to my baby cat purr. I taped it on my mp3 player. She was going crazy, purring so loud she was practically drooling. She's been left alone far too long, poor baby. I wish I could bring her up here. She's brilliant company.

Fics? At christmas?

LJ was very quiet...

However, I have a movie rec. Go and see The Holiday. It is made of awesome.

Hmm, there are plenty of fics at [livejournal.com profile] undermistletoe and [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa. But uh, many of them are mckay-sheppard or smallville ones and not all are the best.

If you don't mind a john-rodney one, I just read oasis by [livejournal.com profile] blueraccoon which I liked because it's not overtly mushy and goes on for a while in a realistic manner (warning - yes there is sex which may be a bit graphic towards the end).

There's also Long Distance Call by [livejournal.com profile] eretria which I thought had great characterisation and no sex but john-rodney (though she's listed it as "ambigous"). I just love stories when they "dont' talk about their feelings" and aren't too mushy - blame it on [livejournal.com profile] derry667 influencing me!

Speaking of [livejournal.com profile] derry667, like you, she's back! She is spending time with family in the arvo tomorrow but is otherwise free in the evening. I've asked her if wanted to hang out and she's fine with it.

I know what you mean, 'Extreme friendlisting' can be quite exhausting! And I'd still say it was quite quiet on LJ during the holidays, so be glad there weren't even more pages! :D

I just posted a few Christmas Eve pics in my LJ, and a birthday present for Skein regarding DNGG. I'm looking forward to your holiday pics! :)

A few fics have been posted during the holidays, but I didn't get to read them all (I also skipped most of the fluffy Christmas themed fics) and I haven't seen anything that was really outstanding. I quite liked "Oasis" (http://blueraccoon.livejournal.com/558127.html) by [livejournal.com profile] blueraccoon, but she posted that only two days ago, so maybe you saw it already. :)

This has nothing to do with your post but...

I think it's interesting that I knew the guy in your userpic was Peter Outerbridge, considering the only other time I've seen him, he was in drag.

I guess he just has one of those unmistakable faces...?

Lets see fic - [livejournal.com profile] yuletide went live on Christmas Day.

I have a few recs here: http://control-freak80.livejournal.com/213104.html and Here: http://control-freak80.livejournal.com/212916.html. All in rare and obscure fandoms. There are 1054 stories in the archive in over 500 fandoms. The community has a ton of recs entries if you're interested. Its rather fun.

[livejournal.com profile] kate98 held a cheerupathon for [livejournal.com profile] deejay435 and there are quite a few good stories here: http://kate98.livejournal.com/258598.html.

There's also the [livejournal.com profile] sg_rarepairings master list here: http://community.livejournal.com/sg_rarepairings/4760.html. There are quite a few good fics, in rare pairings. (I wrote John/Cam)

And the [livejournal.com profile] undermistletoe list here: http://community.livejournal.com/undermistletoe/profile (lots of good SGA stories.) (mostly McKay/Sheppard, some gen)

I know you asked for recs, but I don't really have any for the last three.

Oh yeah! There's also [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa. All of those fics were posted as well, but I haven't read any, so I can't really give you any recs.

Hey my dear! We just got back in from Thailand, and even with friends filters, I'm pretty sure I missed quite a few LJ updates too. As for fic rec, I'll be piggybacking off your post for ideas ;). Meanwhile, check out these two: [livejournal.com profile] heroes_holidays and [livejournal.com profile] iamrighthere's "The Known World" (an SGA WIP)

Also, if you haven't already, swing on by my 40 Qs meme - since we've been exchanging comments virtually this year, I thought it'd be nice to share a little more about me with the flist. Happy New Year!
