Miracles

I've been rewatching a show called Miracles, which only aired for one season in 2003. Back then I was a huge X-Files fan and loving all these shows trying to emulate it. Anyway after watching a fan vid for the show (watch it, it's good!), I had a hankering to watch it again. I just didn't remember it being quite as the vid made it look... that is, really good. Anyway, found the DVD set second-hand and couldn't resist the "buy me" button. Oh dear.

Now I realise possibly the main reason I liked it was it had great hurt/comfort factor. I was a huge h/c fan when I was a teenager (still am), but back then I didn't have a term for it. Paul is whumped almost at every turn in this show.

It goes like this:
Episode one: Paul's car is hit by a train.
Episode two: Okay he isn't injured, but he gets cuffed and man-handled. (*grin*)
Episode three: He gets knocked out, because a guy whacks him over the head.
Episode four: He is knocked out as a bus explodes and is a woobie all episode.
Episode five: He gets beaten up some, plus he's locked up by an evil Sheriff.
Episode six: I kid you not, he is struck in the head with an iron. (Yes he is smashed in the head with a clothes de-wrinkling device, you did read that correctly.)
Episode seven: Gets into fisticuffs with his boss.
Episode eight: Shot by a ghost with a confederate bullet. (Ha!)
Episode nine: uninjured, boo!
Episode ten: uninjured, boo!!
(Edit 14/3/13: finished the episodes, so filling in the whumpage!)
Episode eleven: A flying lamp smacked his lights out (pun intended).
Episode twelve: uninjured, boo!!!
Episode thirteen: Ooh deliberately dies and comes back to life. (Above 3 "boos" are forgotten.)

I haven't watched the last three episodes yet, but I just realised PETER OUTERBRIDGE IS IN EPISODE THIRTEEN! Hey [livejournal.com profile] tj_teejay, did you know that?! I swear I saw a few other actors I know well, looking very young, but I've yet to see any proof it's them. Will have to go back and look at the credits.

Edit: Finished the eps now (14/3/13).

That sounds right up my alley...

Maybe borrow when you're finished?

Of course you can. I was just looking for Mysterious Ways, but I can't even get that one second-hand. That and Burning Zone were the main other shows I watched that were trying to catch a ride on the X-files band wagon. I'm sure there were more, but I can't think of any of the other ones I'm sure I watched. :D
