Family Catchphrases
Okay, here's a meme I totally felt like doing! I've only done a few, because my mind went blank, but it's fun! :D

omglawdork. Every family has funny catchphrases; here are a few of ours, with origins and usages. I'd love to hear what you use - feel free to leave in comments, or make your own post! :)
Fanannywacker - Defined as: a driver who unnecessarily slows down a long way before a red light, in the hope that the light will change and they won't have to come to a complete stop, thereby preventing cars behind them from turning left (in Australia. I suppose that'd be right in America.). I have no idea of the origins of this word, but my father used to yell it at drivers. eg. "You bloody Fanannywacker! Get off the road." My sister and I thought it was a real word until a few years after my sister got her license and she happened to yell at a driver while she had friends in the car... needless to say she got some very confused looks.
Get a life! - This is generally when my dad and I (or another family member) are slinging insults (or insulting puns) at each other in jest. When someone is down and can no longer think of a comeback, they'll throw out "[insert person's name] Get a Life!" and they'll pretty much win by default. It originates from when I was a little kid and Dad got on a roll with punning on something or other and I yelled from my bedroom "Dad, get a life!" I don't remember what the puns were about anymore, but somehow it fit the general theme and cracked him up and it's just been ever since.
I'm not bovvered! - What can I say, I made my family watch the Catherine Tate Show on DVD and it's a family institution now! Mostly when things are getting heated and someone is obviously annoyed, out come the "I'm not bovvered, are you bovvered?" and it always makes us laugh. :)
