Writing meme gakked from another journal somewhere or other! If you've read any of my fic, I'd love it if you'd take the time to comment!!

01. Do I have a distinct style of writing?

02. If so, what exactly is it that defines my style?

03. Would you say my stories follow a certain theme?

04. Is there anything you feel I ought to improve or change?

05. Does my style (if I have one) remind you of anyone else?

06. Judging from whatever writing of mine that you've seen, what do you think is/are my strength(s)?

07. What do you think are my weaknesses?

Please do comment on my weaknesses. I'm just as interested in that, if not more, than in my strengths. If you've only read a few of my fics, or only one, feel free to add which one it was too.

Also, if anyone, especially my flist, wants to give me an SGA challenge (ie. any style, spark word/s, characters, other things...maybe something you think would help with any weaknesses pointed out, or play to my strengths?), depending on my rl, my thesis writing and my muse, I may just answer it, though no gaurantees. I'm just after ideas!

A list of my fic so far can be found HERE for anyone interested.

*will do this tomorrow, after I do Rinne's* I suck. I swore I'd do hers long ago but the damn page won't load!

Tomorrow, I will make it.

You know, I was just thinking yesterday that I hadn't done yours either.

Yep, starrylizard, I'll be doing the exact same thing.

*off to bed...*

Well, I've only read one of your fics so far, but I can try to do this (so stealing the meme, btw, as it's wonderful.) I read the one Kavanaugh fic that ended up being him and Hermoid (so CRAZY! Broken BRAIN!!).

1. Not sure I've read enough to tell.

2. See 1. (I'm such a flake on these questions. Sorry.)

3. Well, the only other story I've seen on your journal in the 60 or so posts I skipped back to search through was a Mr. Bean/Atlantis crossover, so I'd say you seem to gravitate towards themes that shall break others brains in a mass of giggling.

4. Hrm. Well, I did find the Kavanaugh fic a little wordy? But then, I can be much too sparse, so it could just be me.

5. Not really, though control_freak80 also routinely tries to break my brain.

6. Humor. You've got a nice touch for the surreal--treating it as though it isn't makes it that much funnier.

7. Again, not sure if I've read enough to tell. But maybe that I'd like to see something non-cracktastic from you? I mean, I love crack, I do. But I'd like to see what you can do with other things.

Thanks! Yeah I should write less crack I guess, but it's a sort of release and I often start writing something serious, get stuck and turn it into crack. Bad habit I guess :P If you're interested and don't mind McKay/Sheppard I have written two more serious fics in response to challenges by newkidfan. Memory in a Touch and Need.
I just put up a list of my fic HERE (http://starrylizard.livejournal.com/32793.html#cutid1). There aren't very many of them!!
Thanks for the feed back.

Um, so I have a serious McKay/Sheppard squick. :-( Sorry. In general, I'm not a huge slasher. Or, in SG-1's case, not a slasher ever at all.

That's fine. In general I'm not a slash fic writer either. The smut tends to make me a tad squicky, but it's just that I have this weird thing when it comes to challenges...and these ones had a sort of cool reward in the form of a vid. Teehee. I'm always answering challenges, but usually I don't manage to finish in time and they just sit unfinished in a pergatory file on my laptop. :D
Do you have a fave character or pairing? I'm looking for more interesting stuff to write.

[identity profile] daisycm83.livejournal.com 2006-01-25 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
On SG-1, I'm all about the Jack/Sam and Vala/Cameron pairings. In Atlantis? I like John/Teyla and McKay/Cadman and McKay/Cadman/Beckett and OMG Ronon/Teyla is yummy. But in general, I'm a little more flexible there.

1. Yes.

2. A slightly odd take on the world, and descriptive.

3. I wouldn't say there really is a theme.

4. Not particularly.

6. An odd take on the world, description.

7. Length, not writing long fic (but then who am I to talk).
