A year in reading

According to Goodreads, this is what I've read this year. I haven't kept track any other way, so I'll assume I'm not missing any.
books

I'm currently reading The Death Cure by James Dashner (I just want to know if there is a point to it all, so I keep reading, but I was bored already by the second book) and #1 of the New 52 The Birds of Prey (Kick ass gals unite, yeah! I am loving Starling. I wish she had her own series.).

Any recommendations always welcome. I seem to have had quite a year in YA.

Ah, I read the Maze Runner books this summer. I enjoyed them well enough, but yeah, the second one is pretty derivative and the whole structure of the series is a total Hunger Games ripoff (first book intriguing and exciting, second book rehash with higher stakes, third book political resistance!) And I was pretty disappointed with the reveal at the end of book one, frankly. Kind of a waste of a super intriguing premise. :/

As someone involved in the creative side of fandom, I recommend "Fangirl" by Rainbow Rowell. SO GOOD; she really *gets* fanfic. :D

I also just finished "A Spot of Bother" by Mark Haddon. I don't know if you're into slice-of-life realistic type fiction, but it's basically about this dysfunctional family who tries to pretend everything's fine because they're British and then everything goes to hell when Dad thinks he has cancer and has a breakdown. Depressing in bits but overall pretty enjoyable.
