Printers and cheap DVDs
OMG! Just went to JB HiFi and Babylon 5 DVD box sets are only $45 per season and if you buy two, you get one free.
Just got all five seasons of B5 and, since I could get a sixth boxset for free, I also bought the second season of Without a Trace. How could I resist? Yes, I know. I spend my money rather erratically. :p
Incidentally, Alias, Nip/Tuck, Without a Trace, ER... all similar deals. Woo!
What I was actually doing in JB HiFi though was looking at printer/scanner combos. I haven't had either a printer or a scanner for ages, but sometimes it's nice to read something on paper for a change.
Does anyone have a view on which is better: Epson, Canon or HP??
I'm thinking mostly in terms of the printers. How long the cartridges last compared to cartridge price and whether the colour/B&W components of the cartridges can be replaced separately.
Also, if anyone knows whether any of these printers are any better at printing photos and what a reasonable printer is (I'm thinking fairly bottom range here) in terms of printing resolution.
Any advice would be helpful, otherwise I'm likely to go with the Epson, just because it's currently on special at Dick Smith Powerhouse and they all look fairly similar to me.

Hmm, I'm a bit broke though now that I'm going to be paying for my plane fare to the UK soon and yes, decided to go to that con...
I love JB and all their goodies :)
Hmm, regarding the printer, I have an old Epson Stylus 640 that is about 10 years old. It's lasted a while and (touch wood) I can still find the ink cartridges. I get them from Aussie Post since Officeworks don't stock them anymore but in general I do all my printing at work coz it takes forever to print!!!
I found this site:
http://www.inkman.com.au/
which I'm going to use next time as their ink seems a bit cheaper than Aussie post.
I would suggest, if you're hardcore, to look at the different models and then research their ink cartridge costs. I think they all offer similar stuff - ie nowadays you can buy the colours in 3 different cartridges instead of one. Of course, yeah, it costs quite a bit!
All I can say is, don't go for any Lexmarks!
I'm partial to Epsons myself since my trusty one is still around. I even used it to print some comics stuff from Spubba that I gave to some guests last year.

But yes, rather splurge spending. It happens to us all sometimes.
Thanks for the printer tips. Love the icon. MMmmm. Love those Daniel arms.
