I know absolutely nothing about OTH, so you really don't need to have watched the crossover show. The AU storyline is very clear and rather heart-breaking! I'm kinda floored by this as was Meg who I just yoinked this rec off.

Why you’re reccing the vid: The only coherent comment I could make on this vid was "wow!" and after several watches I'm still kinda stuck there.
This vid is a really brilliant study of Castiel's character, but it also covers all of the recent angel story-arc featuring Dean, Sam and Anna among others. It just really hits all the right points of S4 for me and the song was simply MADE for this vid! It's just fabulous! Go watch! \o/
