I actually thought Dean offering Sam the Impala was the most important thing he did all episode. Completely speaks to who Dean is - offering Sam Dean, Dad, home and protection all in one fell swoop.

Oh I agree. I just mean I can never imagine Sam accepting the offer, because it means so much. It was a gesture in that sense...but still a selfless one and very Dean. *nods*
