They seems to really concentrate on the blood though, so I wonder if it was setting up something for next episode. Like it's reduced his powers or something... or if he'll go running to Ruby. etc.

It was interesting that he couldn't throw them around, so either (a) he needs to use his hands to direct his powerz or (b) they only work on demons?? Or am I overthinking? :P
