Yeah my dad was telling me about a case of major fraud in physics. I wonder if it was the same one? Yeah, not that most geneticists are loonies, but I often wonder a little about the controls they have in place. We fill in loads of forms, but unless there was a whistle blower no one would really check and even then, the freezers in any institute are a nightmare. To go through all the samples and check the contents could never happen and they'd have to prove something to destroy things... hmmmmm...not that I'm hiding anything in my freezer, but yeah.

These guys went the other way though...they claimed to have created something they didn't have. It's just weirdness that I don't get. It's the bit where they got their junior scientists to donate eggs that really gives me the willies though.
