Scholarship update

Hmmm...

Turns out that for some reason they have been paying me extra each month, so they did give me the whole scholarship, just three months early.

I am baffled still as to why they felt the need to do that, but now I feel a little guilty.

See, they are looking into getting me some more pay starting asap, but maybe I should just suck it up and use my savings for the next 2 months, since I guess that's why I have managed to save. I was getting more money without realising it.

Plus, apparently if my supervisor pays me from the hospital, he can't pay me tax free, because the hospital isn't allowed to pay students or some such. So, they have to hire me as a research assistant or some tripe. No doubt that will be weird since full-time students can only work so many hours.

Yes, I am confused. I'm told there will be much paperwork.

I think I get the SPN fascination you all have!

Must finish watching S1 now. I think I've seen most of it, but I may have missed a few toward the end. :)

Underworld

Just watched Underworld (last night) and Underworld: Evolution (tonight). $20 for both of them at JB Hifi at the moment if anyone is interested.

I still disagree with my friend about the plot being wonderful. I honestly think it's pretty same-old. But whoa the costumes, the gothic look and feel. Now that I like. Very sexy!

Plus the DVD has extras, behind the scenes etc. I'm amazed that the Lycans (werewolves) aren't all CGI. They are these cool animatronic puppets which a person wears and the actors run around on stilts inside them. They take four puppeteers to make all the snarly-growly facial expressions. Very clever! The person inside the suit has to do it all while seeing the world only on a screen inside the suit, so they are doing all their stunts without depth perception.

All in all, not as bad as I thought it was when I saw it at the movies, but I'm still not getting my friend's obsession with this movie. Points for the tight fitting leather, which is very nice and they do take off the leads shirt very often. I can just be happy with the shallow side of things with this one. :)
