AU comment fic

I can't sleep, probably because I had coffee at dinner. We went to a nice Greek place and I had far too much Mousaka and I'm incredibly full! :)

Anyway, lack of sleep has lead to me creep down to the computer and make up a random fic meme thing.

Leave me an AU idea and the characters in said AU and I'll write you a comment fic.

For example: SGA - John is a plumber, Rodney's sink is blocked.

I'm basically an SGA gal, but I'm happy to attempt other fandoms such as BSG, TW or SPN and crossovers are perfectly welcome. (eg. John Sheppard and Dean Winchester are competing in a ten pin bowling competition.)

Het/gen or slash welcome. Please specify if you only want gen/friendship or I'll write what I feel like.

I'll try to write what comes, but no promises.

*sneaks back to bed*

EDIT: You people realise my slash/het is usually cuddly sweet and with kisses and fade-to-black sections. Right? Didn't mean to mislead. I do happily write gen/friendship too, I just didn't want anyone getting a fic they wouldn't ever read.

You should be able to read it now. I just added it to said filter and backposted to last year. If anyone digs it out, they can read it too...for a while anyway. :P

Cool! Thank you! I like it! :-)

Interesting note: I've come to realise that the terminology for graduate studies is different from place to place. Here, someone still working on their doctorate is a grad student (as in, they have graduated their first degree (bachelor's level) and are working on a Master's or higher), and post-grad is someone doing "post-doc." Or so it seems from what I hear tossed around.

You're welcome. It's just me and such things. I can happily read them when in the mood, but when I write them it feels weird.

Well I was going for PhD level studies, but I wasn't sure what you meant. We have under-grad and post-grad and then later you'd be a post-doc. I wasn't sure what a grad student meant out of the first two so I went with the older, harder working sort. :)

*nods* Yes, that's what I was looking for and you guessed my meaning correctly. I forgot that the terminology is not the same from place to place -- my bad. *blush*

My own accomplishment in the "something feels weird to write" department was using the word "balls" without giggling like mad. I can read it, but writing it just feels wrong. Hee hee.

Again, thanks for the fic! :-D

*giggles with you*

Took me forever to take the word "cock" seriously. Maybe that's coming from the biology background I have. It seems if you use another word, readers dislike it, so I try not to have to say it at all. I've actually read whole reams of meta in some fanfic sites about which terminology should be used and no one ever seems to agree. :P

You're welcome. You're on the filter now anyhow. I keep vowing never to use it and then sometimes someone dares me or whatever... There are recs on it occasionally too. *grins*
