SGA/SG1 and a few random questions

I finally watched the SGA episode 'Sunday' last night. I liked the character explorations a lot, but I just didn't like Beckett's death.

Of course I don't like that they killed him, when I thought he was to be a recurring character, but that's not what I mean. It ended up so melodramatic and just not right. Exploding Tumours? *sigh* If you're going to copy a scene from Grey's Anatomy, couldn't it have truly been just some live amunition or something?

I can completely buy him dying to save one man's life. I understand the fact that living in Atlantis poses risks no one can predict. All of that is great. I see where they are coming from. Even the exploding tumours could have been fine, but... Somehow, maybe they could have had the second guy explode while Beckett is triaging patients or something. I'm not a script writer, I don't know, but somehow it seemed very unsatisfactory. Or maybe it's just me not wanting Beckett to die.

*hugs her Beckett* I'll miss you.

So anyone gonna write us fic to explain John's previous marriage. Was he gay or did he discover he was gay? Did it just not work out with his always moving around for the airforce? Did she die and he doesn't like to talk about it? Did they marry young and it fell apart? Could he not express his feelings well enough and she thought he didn't love her? So many options there.

Elizabeth's love interest looks like Noah Wyle. Does he have a brother or something? I liked their interaction. It was sweet and very reticent on Weir's part. I loved the way Beckett ribbed her and was happy for her.

McKay and Katie Brown and the baby ferns. Dear Lord, the cute of it.

Ronon's idea of a game. Ha!

Biro! Radek at chess club!

And that last scene killed me. *hugs McKay and Beckett*

SG1 was just so cute with the Sam and Cam moments. Still waiting to hear about Daniel though. I really liked this episode, especially after watching SGA. Sam + Cam = so pretty and fluffy. I loved Vala jumping into Teal'c's arms too! I've really grown to love Vala and Cam. It's a pity it's the last season.

Some random questions for whoever feels like answering:
-In SPN, does the impala(sp?) get fixed after the episode "Reaper"? I have a fic idea and just want to know.

-In SG1, each time Daniel ascended, his body disappeared in a white light... yes/no?

They seem to be giving Rodney a softer side

Yeah, like with the whales. *smiles*

Do you think any of those new characters will remain in a "recurring" capacity. They introduced quite a few never before seen people. *shrugs*

maybe a few. But I doubt it.

I won't rant because it isn't me, but I don't get the whole killing Carson thing at all. I hope PM finds a really good new job

I don't feel like ranting either. I understand what the PTB are trying to accomplish. I guess I was just surprised at my emotional reaction. Of course I was expecting a little more hope for Carson returning.

I'm a tad upset with this season, because it feels like fanfiction. I really think there is someone out there feeding the writers what they think the fans want. But there is a reason I read fanfiction and it's a different reason to why I watch the show. I love the new team moments, but I do hope they get back into the regular swing of things, because it's getting on my nerves. Give me some good old wraith action or something. Surely team moments can be incorporated within it all.

Am I too whiny? Everyone else seems so happy with this season, so I've just been keeping quite. I have loved several of the episodes, but yeah. Not even sure what I'm saying. :P

I am one of the few people I know who hated Sateda. It felt forced to me. There were moments in it I liked, but the over all episode not so much. I'm liking the season overall, but I do know what you are talking about. There having been moments I've eye-rolled. I think the PTB realized that they had not been putting the little moments SG1 had into the first two seasons of SGA. So instead of working them in slowly and letting the relationships develop naturally, they are forcing these moments. Its the big grand gestures I don't like. Its lazy. We wouldn't have had to have an entire episode of "what they do on their day off" if they would have given us small glimpses every once in a while.

YES!!! That's what I mean.

I do like the season otherwise. But where s2 had almost nothing 'personal' for the characters. This season is just so in-your-face with it.
