Random question #3658

How do Americans usually refer to a toasted sandwich? Like something you'd buy at a coffee shop chain with ham/cheese/tomato or something.

Jaffle, toastie, toasted sandwich...?

It's for a fic. Sam and Dean are in Utah, I think. In case that makes a difference. Still working on that, my geography sucks in my own country, let alone a whole other one.

Thanks guys! :)

Toasted or grilled. As in "grilled ham and cheese".

So I have a British professor who once ordered a "cheese toastie" at the coffee shop, just out of habit, and got teased mercilessly. ;)

"Panini" is also an option, especially at a coffee shop that is either a little classier or wants to think it is.
